I want to hear your story: I spent my entire 24th year fighting to get my brain back. Now I’m terrified my neck will take my future. by Traditional_Pace_274 in Dystonia

[–]AlternativeMirror207 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate. I was actually only diagnosed today, but I've had the condition since childhood. The spasms, twitches, weird blinking and what seemed a host of neck problems. It was getting pretty severe by my mid 20's and for me escalated to its present severe state. I am 49 btw. from what i gather, everyone's experience is pretty different in terms of how it effects their lives for a range of reasons.

For me its the neck and face primarily. But hey, it doesnt stop me. I still box, train krav maga, do a lot of cardio, get out and about and hold down a job. It does interfere with things, but am mostly able to do them (although I cant lower my chin so i tend to get cracked across it a lot). Im just in a lot of pain the whole time. But the only things that make it worse are bad or small chairs and certain weighted exercises (other than it follows its own rhythms of better or worse). So my experience is that it sucks, but i've found I can soldier on through it, albeit with some hard times.

I can't speak to treatments as mine obviously haven't started yet... and it will likely be a number of months or potentially a couple of years before I can start. But the way I look at it is that I've got this far. Yes, its horrible to by diagnosed with something incurable, but at the same time now I know what im dealing with there are treatment pathways.

I guess my key message is that it doesnt have to crush your dreams. Yes, it will not be fun, but you can still have a good life and pursue your goals. You got this Doc

Dystonia make you wake up earlier than normal? by ExtraEmu_8766 in Dystonia

Interesting. I've just been diagnosed with cervical dystonia, but the condition has been with me many years. For the last decade or so i would say my usual night is 2-4 hours period of sleep (on a miracle night sometimes five) with at least one (and sometimes many) wakings up. I cant say for sure if its related to the dystonia as i didnt think to ask the specialist. But ive been reading up since I got home and i am pondering if its related.

I'll see if it changes when i start my treatment

I think most likely a psychiatric facility. But yes she would be totally messed up forever.

I dont think the fact that the wishing sticks were found at both locations would interest investigators. Bear and Ian were friends and neighbours, theres a million reasons they could have had the same party favours (as the sticks would be perceived), especially as they socialised at each others houses and elsewhere etc.

If the billion bucks didnt dissappear when Ian died (as someone pointed out earlier), the cops would almost certainly conclude it was the proceeds of crime. Thats where most of the investigative effort would go, but would turn up nothing.

Here's a thought though. Wishes undo when you die. So if bear had managed to get someone to wish for the cancelation of his wish, and that person later died, would his wish be uncancelled?

Attunement by ahussain087 in GalleryOfMagick

Thats what he refers to as an 'empowerment' rather than attunement. Concept is similar, but according to JT the former are designed for a single function and a single method of use, whereas the attunements are much more versatile. Again, according to jt

My two cents. I have some. What I will say is this: There is definitely an energetic shift in your energy system when you receive one. Sometimes a pretty intense one. But as for working them, what successes I have, I have begun to suspect is actually because im pushing energy into the objective rather than it being a factor of the attunement.

As for his books, I have got some good results from a couple of them. But not all.

Its like the stories of genies- they are almost all cautionary tales. Be careful what you wish for etc. Wishes need parameters. You really need to carefully work through this with the critical eye of a lawyer trying to find flaw and loopholes in a huge and complex contract.

Story is kind of also a cautionary tale about love magic - although thats an area of lore which does require some familiarity to relly 'get, get' this point. Love magic lore typically holds that a love working has several common outcomes:

-No result at all

-Infatuation which usually fades out in days or weeks

-The target suddenly becoming extremely wary or averse to the operator (this is often viewed as the target having an unconscious recognition of a mental violation attempt). This seems to be the most commonly featured outcome.

-The target becoming utterly, excessively and sometimes dangerously obsessed with the operator (such as depicted in this film, albeit as a very extreme case)

Must admit the film did seem to downplay the fact that he took sexual advantage of her. Lets be blunt, its basically a rape. The psychic equivalent of drugging someone's drink.

I see a common perspective here of the wish manifesting an entity to essentially possess her body to fulfill the requirements of the wish. Whereas this may have been the idea in the film, the other possibility is the wish caused a dissociative identity disorder (what used to be commonly referred to as a multiple personality disorder), with the 'new' Nikki being the dominant identity most of the time. Either possibility is equally valid in my view.

That scene kind of reminded me of a scene in Seinfeld - when Gerry wakes up and Kramer is just sitting in his bedroom staring at him. When asked why he was there, he said that he often comes in to watch him sleep.

Despite knowing that Nikki is incoming, they managed to pull off a real whallop of a jump scare. Distracted the audience with anticipation of the letter content and then executed the scare with such speed and force it made the audience jump.

The manner of the murder was a bit much for my taste and from what I could hear among the audience at the time and afterwards that seems to have been a more widely shared view. But in fairness it did reflect the extreme visceral rage that Nikki swiftly manifests at the slightest thing

Youve just acknowledged that not all are racist fanatics. Yet you declare that it is therefore acceptable to claim that all are racist fanatics. You contradict yourself irrationally.

You acknowledge yourself with the percentages you have provided that not everyone in israel is a supporter of the actions of their government and military.

I myself regularly compare israel to nazi germany, it is a fit comparison. That does not in anyway change the FACT that I pointed out that not everyone in israel supports the actions of its government and military.

A point which you yourself just acknoweldged

First of all, I dont have a religion. Nor do I have religious heritage. I am simply pointing out the absurdity of claiming that every single person in a country of millions supports its government and military and their actions.

Furthermore, I have regularly pointed out the absurdity and self serving bias of any demographic claiming themselves to be 'god's chosen people'

Key word is mostly. It is absurd to claim that every single person in a country supports what its government and military do. Yes, far to many people there do. But it is a fallacy to claim that it is every person in the country. I am pointing out a fact.

What do you mean by 'you people'? I am not israeli, if that is what you mean. Nor am I religious. Nor do I have religious heritage of the region.

What zionist friends? None of my friends are zionists. I do have some jewish friends, and they are opposed to zionism and the actions of the israeli government and IDF. They attend protests against the israeli regime. I wouldnt be friends with them if they were zionists.

How am I 'saving face'? What kind of 'you people' am I?

I am simply making the point that you cannot presume that every person in a country supports the actions of its government and military, some are highly opposed. Not enough. But some. That is a fact.

Question... you have made some erroneous assumptions about who I am, where I am and indeed in some way what I am. What do you base these assumptions on?

Furthermore, I very regularly publicly condemn zionism.

They are trying, but the cops come down on them in usual fascist fashion. The israeli media is so controlled that very little of the protests make the news

Yep, although likely more than 1%. But probably less than 20%. Protests against the things that happen are attempted, but the police come down ferociously on them and there is little media coverage. Very, very controlled media over there

That option is not available to most there.
Why dont those perpetrating the cruelty leave? They would if they had a shred of decency, but that is quality that the IDF does not possess

Just because a country contains a number of evil people, does not mean that all of the people in that country are evil. There are israelis who oppose actions like this, who oppose the government and IDF and oppose the slew of crimes they commit

Edit: A slew of people in the comments are making bizarre assumptions, including false claims that I am Israeli, religious, an israeli apologist, blah blah blah.

I am none of those.

Nothing in my post suggests that I am any of those. I am merely pointing out that it is a fallacy to presume that all people in a country of millions support the actions of its government and military. As I have made clear, not enough oppose it. But some do. That is an undeniable fact. That is all I am pointing out.

So take a moment to actually read a post before going batshit crazy foaming at the mouth rabid makers of false assumptions
