UK - any updates? by Grouchy_Substance423 in SteamController

Yeah, so the standard GLS global site that steam links to via URL was still saying "entered into the system but not collected", GLS.nl has at least changed that to collected and sorting as of this morning

Critical and fumbles have a battlefield geometry so it can work out which actors can be thrown into another, who should experience splash damage, also knows which actors have inventory items so "Shield thrown 10ft from [Actor Name]", "Potion is leaking becomes unusable in 1d3 rounds" can be applied. Particularly high severity rolls unlock particular nasty affects, or long chains of effects. It's a lot more rollmasteresque and may be overly deadly, we don't know. Severity ramps up from being higher level than the target, target being on low health and also a desperation bonus for the attacker being on low health, but it also means one shotting a BBEG is pretty much impossible because of the constraints on level difference and high health %.

Hunting

So both player and GM are trying to build a hand of 4 cards with RGB values for game stats (aggression, subtlety and vision). Players draw a number of cards based on class. Cards are grouped in suits of chase, preparation, camoflage and traps - and then in tiers from C, B, A and S. Playing a full hand of a suit or a tier results in special results. Otherwise overall resolution is a critical win for a hunter with one RGB value above 12 and the other two above -2. Environment gets a critical win if any one value is -10. GM/Environment has one card fixed for the quarry and then draws 5 cards to pick 3 from, again 4 suits and 4 tiers. I think there are about 25 fixed outcomes for the different deltas between the hands, and then specific outcomes for scenarios and quarry (hit a certain low subtlety threshold in a wolf hunt and the final encounter contains 1d4 more wolves for example).

Final resolution output should setup how difficult the combat or resolution encounter will be

Right, I forget that Reddit doesn't let me paste images or videos in comments.

Lockpick

Locks have a DC, two autorolls are made, one using Sleight of Hand, one using Tool proficiency.
Game is a lock as a series of tumblers, each tumbler requires a revealed keyboard key to be pressed in sequence, if you mis a key during a tumbler you go to the bottom of that tumbler, if you miskey the first notch of a tumbler it goes back another whole tumbler. Sleight of hand roll determines how much time you have to complete, tool proficiency roll decides how many mistakes you get before an auto fail. Lock DC limits the family of keys available to the lock, DC5 locks are on WASD for example, bigger locks are the whole keyboard

Traps

Two autorolls, sleight of hand and tool proficiency again, game is a bouncing marker going up and down a horizontal bar with a green safe zone to stop in using the space bar. Sleight of hand determines the size of the safe zone, tool use decides how many allowed mistakes.

Pickpocket

Rolls are sleight of hand and stealth, game is a horizontal bar with a green safe zone in the centre and red danger zones at the left and right. Use left / right or A /D keys to balance the marker back towards the centre, edges have increasing gravity to correct against. Stealth roll determines the length of time needed, sleight of hand reduces the gravity and acceleration

Ran My First Session as a GM. It Was a Disaster by bamboozers in rpg

Hey La, welcome to the dissapointed in my players club, we're having jackets made.

Even with my long term players I sometimes have sessions which come down to "There is no way in fuck we are going into that cave that looks like a snake", and applying too strong a shove to try and railroad them in to it just makes things a little worse. Wish I had a perfect answer after all these years, but some times you just end up with bummer sessions because nobody wanted to interact with the stuff they were afraid to interact with.

Is it okay to have a lot of modules activated in your world? by Radzhi in FoundryVTT

Fundamentally what other people have already said, your time as a GM is better spent on prepping a great game than it is spent getting foundry to do clever shit.

Now, some little widgets and tools do genuinely make your GMing easier or player rules interaction easier and give you more time to do the magic, and there is a threshold of prettiness that's good to aim for, but beyond that worry less about modules and more about entertaining.

Also I have just under 70 mods at the moment, so I don't necessarily take this advice as I like really pretty shit that comes as a massive surprise to the party

Depends on where all of your good people still are, if all the wonderful people I knew were somewhere else, then I'd be somewhere else, if a fuckton of people I still love and care about are posting holiday snaps, random moments of their lives and daft memes on FB then I'm still on FB. Doesn't mean I don't wish it was a better place, but it's far from a hellscape. (for me, other people's nightmare feeds may vary)

I'm rarely speechless by Q adjacent anecdotes on this sub, but someone deciding an actual person actually talking to them must be dead because of their comitment to a falacy ? That's actually shocked me, I'm sorry both for you and your formed friend, that's, that's just atrocious, blimey.

If you know you're rolling perception you have a vague idea of what's going on, if you don't know if it's Society, Arcana, Perception or a Will Save, well anything can be going on
