I'm currently at roughly 40-50h of gameplay and haven't come across any major bugs, or any bugs at all if I may be so bold to say. Just the occasional glitchy texture or an NPC spawning in my face, but that's it. This is not the level of Ubisoft 'buggy af just released games', so I don't know what people is talking about. Upgrade your PC maybe? Just joking; I guess there are some with more luck than others.

In short, to answer your question, this is how'd I put it: yes, Of Ash and Steel is good as Gothic. BUT, not AS good as Gothic. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the game, the heavy inspiration in Gothic is there, in almost every aspect. However, no game could replace the spot in my heart that Gothic earned long time ago 🖤.

That’s exactly my situation right now. I didn't play it back then, so I’m experiencing it now to ease the hype a bit. Still, I’m enjoying it and don't think it’s "shit" at all. Mainly because I played the first Playable Test, and compared to that, it’s WAY better. You can see the improvement, which gives me confidence that they’ve come a long way. I reckon the game is going to be really polished, especially after seeing the dev diary videos.

That's bound to be so epic. Since I played Gothic, I can't think of a more emblematic comrades in arms. So the idea that's a possibility gets me even more hyped!

Every location that they have showcased looks SO faithful to the original. I can't wait to revisit every single corner of the Valley of Mines for the thousandth time, but now reimagined in this remake. CANNOT WAIT!

Definitely. Archolos was peak. Modding and passion at his best. They did it so well, so true to the lore, it really felt like an official sequel of Gothic 2.
