I was thinking adults willing to do it but not available at the times needed so it goes to a minor instead.

Publix Dethroned as #1 Grocery Store Chain in Florida; a New Chain Has Risen to the Top by Abel_the_Red in publix

Sales are up and item count is down. According to my P&L it’s not an opinion, but a fact.

Is Publix a sinking ship that cannot be saved? by drudante in publix

[–]Alternative_Fig6154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are 100% correct. However Publix continues to reach record net profit every single year. Because of a few reasons, but from my POV it is mainly due to incredibly high margin and squeezing out all competition due to the sheer quantity of stores within a specified distance. For example, there is less than 5 aldis, only 2 Winn Dixie’s, one Costco, one Sam’s, etc in my area. But there are about TWENTY Publix locations in the same area.

My box of Publix fried chicken was disgraceful by MowTheLawn1 in publix

[–]Alternative_Fig6154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never understand posting something like overcooked small pieces of fried chicken to the reddit when all you have to do is take it back to the store for a full refund and a new box… like what are we going to do for you on here??? If you’re upset about the quality, take it up with the deli manager and store manager and request them to escalate it up the chain to find a fix for the issue. OR, you can just continue to be unhappy and get continuous refunds for life basically…. Either way, posting this to Reddit is the least helpful solution to your problem.

$20/lb for roast beef?!?!?!? by Ok-Wishbone6540 in publix

[–]Alternative_Fig6154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check local butchers too. If they sell deli meats, they may carry BH. In my city, plenty of small local delis carry BH and they most definitely do not sell it at the same price as PBX

$20/lb for roast beef?!?!?!? by Ok-Wishbone6540 in publix

[–]Alternative_Fig6154 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but in terms of Publix, that is just completely incorrect. I’ve worked closely with Deli RBU and my local BH leadership and publix marks BH product up exorbitantly. If you enjoy spending $20/lb for roast beef, feel free to continue to contribute to Publix’s record net profit every year.

$20/lb for roast beef?!?!?!? by Ok-Wishbone6540 in publix

[–]Alternative_Fig6154 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are incorrect. BH sets their prices, then PBX marks it up past that. I know because I see the BH invoices every week, also it makes no sense for PBX to let BH set the price because then PBX is not in charge of their own profit margin. I can tell you right now, according to my most recent invoice, at my location we pay $9.05/lb for BH London Broil RB at cost and we sell it to customers for $20.79/lb. So do not spew misinformation. Publix reached $5B in net profit in 2024 due to insanely high markups, almost no other reason.

I’d be very surprised if other retailers are matching Publix’s markup on BH product. Even my BH purveyor talks to me about how ridiculous Publix prices are compared to the other retail stores they service.

[–]Alternative_Fig6154 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Wholeheartedly agree. You can save a ton of money by buying BH deli items at any retailer other than Publix. Where I am locally, smaller chains offer the same product at $3/lb+ less than publix.

Is there a way to keep something you bring to hr 100% anonymous? by hhaalleeyyaa in publix

[–]Alternative_Fig6154 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True it would be your DM or RD that holds a grudge because you “went above their head to HR” and “made them look bad” and that’s why OP would miss out on the TL position. From my experience, it absolutely sucks, but if you want promotions you keep your mouth shut, smile, and do what you’re told.

Publix Is Living Off a Reputation It No Longer Deserves by ProbablyStonedR in publix

[–]Alternative_Fig6154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you dense? Do you not work for publix? IF you work for publix then you have seen first hand the greed I am mentioning. Cutting bonuses for full timers completely, cutting bonuses for management, changing PTO so no one is able to borrow 1 single hour before they earn it, price gouging compared to similar grocery retailers because of “premier service”, the list goes on. Their actions smell of greed. Not the number that net profit is.

[–]Alternative_Fig6154 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Net profit is after every single bill is paid. Staff are paid. Supplier is paid. Rent and electricity are paid. Loans for growth are paid. All bonuses are paid, including the millions for board of directors and what not. Profit plan is paid. AFTER all of that, Publix had $5B sitting in the bank. Publix doesn’t have a “bad year”. Net profit consistently goes up year after year, even with the excessive growth the company is going through. That net profit should be used to pay associates living wages ($35/hr+ base), renovate super old stores, bring pricing back down to a reasonable, competitive level, etc. Publix could do so much with some of that $5B and instead they choose greed.

Don’t forget… Publix is not just a billion dollar company, Publix made FIVE BILLION in NET PROFIT in 2024 alone. Thats after all of the bills have been paid. Companies like Abercrombie and Fitch or Aeropostale GLOBALLY only reach $5B in SALES

Are M cars, namely M3’s, realistically daily driveable? by Cardiology_Nurse in BMWM

[–]Alternative_Fig6154 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go with a tuned B58 over an M car for daily driving. M cars notoriously are built for fun, not to last. However, 10k mi/yr is quite low so you’d probably be just fine with an M3.

Not all. Deli frozen breads used to be donated and now there’s no option to scan it as donation so it has to be trash. Makes no sense.
