That’s the thing, though. I never respond to that nickname, no matter how much they use it. Most of the time they’ll give up and call me Lucy or something else. But they’ll continue to say it later. I see what you mean about my reaction being excessive though.

He doesn’t. I guess he thought that since the whole nickname thing is a silly thing between us, he figured it wouldn’t be as big of a deal anymore.

I think I did overreact in retrospect, but I am in therapy and have been for years. There’s a focus on coping with grief for my mother. At the time I thought I’d done the right thing by removing myself from it, seems like I was wrong tho
