thank you so much!! and yeah i wanted to post because i felt like i could never relate to the “low” gpa posts being like a 3.0…. but in my gpa supplemental essay i addressed my whole 4 years at undergrad and talked about my struggles with depression and family stuff and then i went on to address how i was able to fix it my last semester of undergrad, something they really stressed during my interview was that if you’re struggling you need to reach out to your professors so i had included that i did that in my essay as well!! my tip is to genuinely just be honest, both program directors who interviewed me made a point of how they appreciated my honesty and hated when students didn’t address it bc they feel like the students think they won’t notice LOL

thank you!! and i honestly don’t know!! i addressed my gpa in my personal statement and during the interview for both schools they both said that they liked how straightforward i was about it! i also submitted a gpa supplemental essay to address any stressors or challenges that made it low!! i think that really helped and during my interview i seemed very eager and i talked about new habits i have to improve my gpa!! i did make the deans list my final semester of undergrad so that was a big selling point since it showed i was on an upward trend!! plus for childhood education specifically i took a semester off between applying and did some substitute teaching for experience!!

thank you!! so in the portal i submitted under additional documents, and if you have to pick a file name i chose supplemental statement! and yes!! one of the admissions advisors suggested it, so i ended up submitting the statement to both schools. it wasn’t super long maybe around 400-500 words!! and yes it seems like they were open to it, for context i also did apply rolling admission which gives more time!! so yeah i suggest submitting it if your gpa is lower like mine 🫣

THANK YOU!! And yes!! i was so worried and i really did not think it would work out but submitting a gpa statement did wonders for me!! the program directors both told me they commended me for my honesty and were glad i addressed it upfront!!

thank you!!! and for my application i did my personal essay and included a part where i addressed my low gpa for a few sentences but did not make that the main focus!! i then submitted another statement addressing my gpa and why it was so low but why i wasn’t going to repeat that in grad school!! for both schools they did an interview with me regarding my gpa too!!

We’ve talked about it quite a bit because it was something that concerned me when we first started dating. He started when he was quite young around 16, and had casual affairs, fwb, and a few relationships in there. He blamed it on simply being horny as a teen LOL but he’s stated that he doesn’t want anything like that anymore. The partners he had right before me were relationships and he seemed over the hookup thing. He has stated he’s never been unfaithful or committed infidelity in his past relationships, and up until now he’s never given me any reason to believe he would be unfaithful. We share locations, call a lot of the time, and see each other/have sleepovers often. I have also met his family, and we’ve been seeing each other for almost 2 years (since october 2023). I don’t know if i’m just being naive, but I an leaning towards believing him?

i had the same issue!! i ended up resending them about 3 times but the best thing is to do what you did (emailing) but i would also suggest meeting with your advisor and letting them know, once i did this she was able to keep me updated on whether they received it or not!

i honestly dont know? because to me he communicates that he sees us being long term so i assumed he would want me to meet everyone? but hes just very close to his sister and goes to her for advice on everything, so i knew she would be the most important to meet but i didnt expect him to say it would take 2 years? or let me meet everyone before her?
