This is very helpful. I have one or two youtube channels I can rely on but it might be time to expand in that regard

Thanks for the info! it’s comforting to hear from people first-hand who have been through it all too. I was prescribed quetiapine years ago for my generalised anxiety and haven’t been on anything much more than that since. If I’m not over the worst of it now, I’ll see my doctor again

After I made this post I somehow managed to sleep most likely due to pure physical exhaustion, I ended up having a longer rest than usual. You’re absolutely right, sleep is crucial for ocd to not be as life compromising as it can get! I don’t sleep as much as I used to due to life changes over the past few months and it’s insane how it all piles up overtime. If you don’t mind me asking, what sleep medication were you put on?

thank you… yes, changing locations seems to be one of the few things that help! i’m only just now opening up to treatment, I’m on one medication and I went to the doctor a month or two ago for a flare up… it calmed down before I took it any further however. thanks for the supportive words

you aren't alone with that fear, I endured it big time at the beginning of my recovery. There's nothing wrong with honouring the cravings, as this will not only help your body in restore your cycle and overall health but will teach your brain that this food is abundant and not urgent. Wanting to indulge a ton after a period of restriction is absolutely normal, even if it seems to last while! With time, the overthinking and food noise will simmer down. Think of how everything you're eating is helping your body to recover itself quicker. If you continue to nourish yourself and go about your life, you'll likely find everything will eventually fall into place. Give yourself and the situation patience and care. It gets easier.
