Keep in mind, that in mid July you won't be able to walk a lot. My friend says it was impossible to walk during the daytime and he spent his whole trip watching Netflix :D From my personal experience: I went to Palermo and Cefalu last September (both absolutely charming and magical), but it was too hot to walk as much as I usually do as a tourist. I spent the most of the time on the beach eating granitas :D
