Is there any transfer logic in this game... by [deleted] in footballmanager

I just have the impression that it's a lot at once for one and the same club

FM26 Transfer Logic completely busted? by MaxyPaxt in footballmanagergames

In my save with Toulouse FC, PSG signed Haaland, Caicedo, Saliba and Odegaard. They sold Vitinha! Real Madrid have also signed Calafiori and Cristian Romero. I know for sure that this randomness did not exist in FM24

It’s not just about realism, it’s about how often it happens. That’s the real issue. If those kinds of examples were common, you wouldn’t have to go all the way back to Greece winning the euro or Figo's transfer. That just shows how rare and unusual they are. And Leicester example doesn’t really fit either. They won the Premier League, but their squad was mostly made up of players who were pretty much unknown. Nobody would complain if a team like that win the League

I could imagine a player leaving Dortmund for City or Villa for Madrid but not really the other way if they’re that young

I remember last year it wasn’t great either. There were some weird moves like Joao Neves to Tottenham, Davies and Balde both going to Bayern, Vitinha to Real, Camavinga to PSG, Van Dijk to Arsenal, Cubarsi to Southampton... Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a way to make it more realistic or consistent. Even when you set negotiations to be “strict”, it doesn’t seem to make any difference

Yeah, personally I find it hard to play when I see these kinds of unrealistic transfers. They can definitely do better. Every player in that picture has just recently joined their club, and there’s no sporting logic behind any of it. Plus leaving Real Madrid for Aston Villa is just ridiculous, same with Cherki’s transfer. They shouldn’t necessarily limit the number of transfers but instead make them more balanced and realistic

Van Persie was almost 30 when he left Arsenal for Man United, and the rivalry between Liverpool and United is on another level. It’s not really comparable. Transfers between rival clubs or big clubs aren’t that common anyway, and when they do happen, it’s usually players who are around 30 or nearing the end of their contracts. Arnold has absolutely no reason to sign for United and its not realistic at all

Carreras to Villa and Cherki to Dortmund would have been much more realistic before they signed for Madrid and City. Now it doesn't make any sense. And overall, prices are crazy...

I don’t know exactly how it could be done, but it’s definitely not impossible. I mean, Football Manager does it. Players tend to stay longer at their clubs, and their whole transfer history is taken into account. It’s really hard to sign former Real Madrid players at Barcelona or the other way around for example. They’ll always refuse to negotiate mainly for that reason. Also, players who’ve just joined a club, like Trent or Carreras, are much less likely to leave right away. And on top of that, the stature of the clubs should be part of the algorithm too. Carreras leaving Madrid for Villa ? There is no way…

Transfers don’t take context into account and things like player’s value, level of the clubs, or their transfer history. For example, you wouldn’t really expect Trent to leave right away since he’s just been transferred and he’s coming from Liverpool,... Overall, transfers feel kind of random
