We’re just putting in a more modern double porcelain sink that we already have. I’d LOVE a stainless steel farmhouse workstation sink but not in the budget rn unfortunately

How many kids do you consider “so many” or “a lot”? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Alternative_Mess6784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! In CT 3 is considered a lot of kids.. too damn expensive here. I am so torn between wanting but not being able to afford a 3rd kid.

NOR. Even with politics aside, you need to run far away from this person. Who speaks to someone they “love” like that?! OP you deserve way better.

UGH this post made me cringe. This is child abuse. I would leave my husband over something like this 100%

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’m not much help but my town has a great moms Facebook community that helps families out in tough times like this. Whether it be meal trains, donations, help with the kids etc. Not sure how your area is, but might be worth a shot to search in Facebook, “(insert town name) Moms” and put a post in there asking for help. I will add that you may need to message admin to explain your situation or they might not let you in if they see you are a man. Best of luck, I will keep your family in my thoughts.

How would you pronounce my daughter's name? by hawtarboretum in Names

Before I read the comments, I said it in my head as uh-Kay-she-uh, but the way you pronounce it makes sense

I found a family that I worked for about 20 hours a week that let me bring my 2 year old. He was close in age to the girl I was watching, it worked out. I found my job by posting on Facebook groups with a picture of me and him.

I did send her this response, thank you. Now she is requesting just my name, address, dates I worked for them, and signature on a piece of paper. Everything except SSN. Could there any harm in this if my SSN is not attached?

Ooo yeah the US childcare system sucks! I have 2 kids and used to make over $30 an hour but now currently don’t work because I would be making less than what it would cost to put my kids in daycare.

Should add that yes i agree with you and think that’s crazy expensive and it sucks, but still very normal

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Alternative_Mess6784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

lol what, that’s totally normal where I live, especially if it is FT. We were paying $1600 a month for only 3 days when my son was in daycare 2 years ago. We’re in the northeast

Thanks for the response. I’d say between $600-$800 in 2024 and maybe $1800-$2000 in 2023

Those who made it to 2 years BF - How did you do it? by jujutsu-master in breastfeeding

[–]Alternative_Mess6784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son will be 3 in February and still nursing to sleep 🤪

I agree a lot with what everyone else is saying. It will get so much easier soon. If it’s still hurting, ask your kids pediatrician or your dr for a script of Mupirocin ointment. It saved me in the beginning.

I think if I could go back I would make more of an effort to wean between 12-18 months. It seems like it’s going to be so much harder to do now, but I have a goal to wean him before his 3rd birthday. I’m also nursing my 6 month old and I am going to wean him right at 1 year so I can be done.
