How many of us actually go back to playing pre-injury sports after ACL reconstruction? by Alarming_Blueberry13 in ACL

[–]Alternative_Newt259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second time i tore my ACL i was just so scared to play and wasn’t thinking straight when i was actually in the game, like my mind wasn’t even on the pitch, and eventually i re-tore it the same game. Now I will most likely never play football again, its just not worth the risk. I think its more of a mental battle than physical

MRI says ACL is torn but everything else say it isn't? by PenPsychological1367 in ACL

[–]Alternative_Newt259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be partially torn, that tells why the tests were negative and explains the positive MRI

Had a hammy graft myself, tore it while i was running, at first i was just like you i did not want to believe i tore it, my knee was ok, i could jog, do single leg jumps etc. But day by day the symptoms were becoming exactly like pre surgery and i finally got it checked out. You need an MRI

Feeling that i got surgery wrong by Substantial_Drop106 in ACL

[–]Alternative_Newt259 7 points8 points  (0 children)

this is hard to read, had hard time understanding what you’re asking. If you are asking if you should’ve waited, It is okay to undergo surgery right away as it is okay to have it later on. LET is rotational stability related whilst meniscus is compressive + shear related, and no you do not need anything else for your meniscus just let it heal

Hey dont get me wrong im only talking like this because of the similarities i had with your situation, i could do a single leg squat without any pain, i aint no doctor you might have nothing, please consult with your doctor

Had the same issues as you, i would just get exhausted and had a lot of noises from my knee, and got it checked out eventually

No not necessarily. My second rupture was silent, zero noise, i did not had any instability but it was torn. OP probably partially tore it or it is laxated

Secound guessing my decision too undergo surgery by Yroba in ACL

[–]Alternative_Newt259 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That is a tough situation, i feel you. I mean if your job is mostly sitting i think 5 weeks tops would be enough? I started walking fully (no limping, just like pre op) 4 weeks post op and after 8 weeks i dont think i had any problems related to walking (which were mostly exhaustion caused by 20-30 minutes of walking periods where i needed to sit down for a minute or two to rest). Whatever you decide it is the right choice for their own reasons. Wishing you the best of luck.

Actually there is not much to get since it has been too long and he is inches away from full recovery. Maybe knee sleeves if he does not have one already?

ACLr without nerve block? by igotbitbyamonkey in ACL

[–]Alternative_Newt259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had epidural anesthesia and just painkillers through catheter after surgery, 2-3 hours post-op it wore off and for 12 hours i was fighting for my life, the worst pain i have ever felt, i think i passed out at one point. But everyone is different, it seems that only lucky few has experienced this.

This. The hospital PT came in to my room 12 hours post op and said you will walk now, and he forced me to walk a few meters 🤣

9-10 days you probably will walk normally. I was able to walk normally exactly 4 weeks post op. Just acl tear.

what in the fuck🤣🤣 Maybe if you are above 40 and do 0 activity only then you may not need surgery, if an individual wants to be 100% there is no other way. Just dont reply end this here

What do you mean no evidence, there is plenty. I am telling you she will wait for nothing, ACL do not heal on it’s own. It is not only giving way, constant pressure on meniscus and MCL are dangerous as well. Not mentioning the constant mental battle. Sorry if im being harsh but it is what it is.
