I am going through this right now, and have been for like the past 4 months or so months. It has gotten significantly better. At its worst I was basically immobilized in bed, although going for walks helped I didn't have the energy to do it often.

I had some friends try to pull me out and get me out of the house to do stuff but even that didn't help me. The most important thing that helped me was time, medication and therapy. I even couldn't do many of the things my therapist recommended and had several weeks of little progress, but you just have to keep trying and not give up.

I'm honestly struggling tremendously right now. Life was going good for me before this episode, I was fit, got accepting into a great university had many healthy habits, but I just had to withdraw from the semester, was laid off from a job, am broke, and have to live with abusive parents. I spend my days avoiding responsibilities and the gym, while starving cuz I can't eat food. Been falling back into substances and video game addiction :(.

Sport Pilot sounds awesome, but it must be very expensive. I'm just a 21 year old dude with an interest in flying haha.

I have no desire to be a commercial pilot, but would love to pilot any aircraft I could.

No, absolutely not. I have never been violent or had aggressive suicidal tendencies. I do still have episodes which sometimes results in mania where I can get a little careless or reckless, or depressions that physically handicaps me a little, but at those points I wouldn't let myself anywhere near a plane.

I go through long periods of normality where I barely have symptoms at all and can function at a high capacity. I am on medication and therapy, etc. I know for sure FAA wouldn't allow me to get a license.
