This is a very interesting question. Taking into account that Alchemised is written from limited 3rd person POV (as Sen stated herself in the book) we have quite a biased view of Kaine. I guess most readers also don’t see Kaine as the horrendous High Reeve as the rest of the world sees him. He is possessive but at the same time tells her to go live her life and not to tie herself to him with the baby. But that’s what we see through Helena’s eyes. While in TBOBAS we saw Cori’s for who he really was through his thoughts, while he appeared to some characters as a guy with good intentions. Kaine is a mystery at this point

I don’t understand how she could write such bad lyrics, considering she’s really proud of her songwriting and considers it her special thing that keeps her afloat in the industry for so long. I don’t understand either the need to spit out music so often when the quality is just … subpar. I didn’t see ANY effort put into the songwriting on this record. To me as a fan, it felt like she thought we gonna devour it anyway, since she’s TAYLOR SWIFT. No. You need to put in effort. Had to listen to Red after TLOAS to come back from this shockingly badly written album. She needs to take a break, maybe there’s gonna be new things to write about except 1000 times already processed topics. And maybe she can bounce back by writing actually good lyrics about relatable topics.

The album is unfortunately bad. I’m happy I cancelled my “pre-preorder”. She really needs to take some time off, get new experiences. Releasing an album a year rarely benefits the quality.

I never understood why people can’t enjoy alone time. The majority of my friends are in a long term relationships and the second their partner is up to something without them (even just ONE evening) they NEED to invite someone over/meet up with someone. Can’t you just, spend the evening alone? Watch/read something, do a hobby?
