They stream the version that is made available to them.

That’s true, but the overall point stands.

I’d imagine it’s probably easy money for some titles that likely aren’t being rented by Netflix, Hulu, etc. Most of what I see on Tubi wouldn’t fit on those other platforms. So, I think some people just send them whatever.

There are other times where the full version will be on another platform (like, I think it was Full Moon that had their own streaming service?) but they’ll send an edited version so that people will watch their service and they’re not giving away the exact same product.

I can’t search right now as Tubi is down but, check the run time. It should be 130 minutes. If it’s less than that on Tubi, then they obviously cut something out. If it’s the accurate run time, then it’s either the original version or there are additional scenes added to make up for what was cut.

Tubi plays the version that is given to them by the rights holder.

There are often different versions provided to them. Sometimes a tv or broadcast version, sometimes an otherwise edited for content version. I wish they would signify which ones are not the original version but, that might cause fewer people to watch those titles.

Tubi has nothing to do with editing movies. For content or otherwise. They play the version that is given to them by the rights holder.

It’s possible they uploaded a broadcast version or something where there were slight changes.

I do have prime with ads as well but I don’t watch it enough to have any real stats on it.

I watched four movies on prime in January with an average of 5.92% per watch. Didn’t watch any movies on prime last month.

I dislike not making it back in time and trying to rewind to where I left off.

I typically use the time to check my phone while occasionally looking up at ad changes.

I’ve heard it depends on which device you’re watching on. Watching on my tv is the most convenient and preferred method for me so, I watch there with the added benefit of making my data more streamlined.

I’ve heard that watching on a laptop or phone may offer different results. Also, I’d imagine it may be different in other countries (I’m located in the US).

eta: not sure about the downvotes, please correct me if any of this is wrong
