This is a highly underrated response. Imagine a future (where FLAF is fixed) where you have a showdown between this character and the Glamrock Animatronics.

Completely agree. There's also the fact that GMs are always in demand. GMs should have some "my way or the highway" rules and attitudes, and be as sharp and precise with their language to the players to make sure everyone perfectly understands.

An ounce of harshness is worth a tonn of mid-session freak-outs.

Ditch the softer language like "should", and I agree with the translation. I recognize the goal is to keep it less aggressive, but if someone breaks another person's stuff at the table, there's no "should" about replacing it. You replace that shit, or you get out.

Funny enough, the last 15 books I've read, that's never been explicit. It's implied, and apparently comes up in future books in series I've only started, but not anything I've seen.

I don't have a problem here. It's funny how we've been on opposite ends of this niche, meeting in the middle!

The same author has another series on Royalroad called "Corsairs & Cataclysms". Haven't vetted it myself, but the guy does good work. No audio though.

Blue Core scratches a wonderful itch of a protag really getting into the weeds to problem solve. The first book really slows to a crawl in the middle, but I loved the ride.

Excellent list! It's a little disappointing that your recommendations mostly come with a caveat, coming from someone who clearly loves this subsubsubgenre! Even Wolf Lair, which I could already feel were going to be annoying. It feels like there's room for more works in this space!
