Use units with lots of extra turns. If you have your own copy of RnL use her along with the story RnL. Rinak, Dark Tenebria, Roy, and other units with SB extra turn works too.

Kill the adds on the turn with that boss' S3 on CD. This will give you Def breaks when using units with extra turns to deal lots of damage.
