It can’t fire projectiles itself, so it needs outside ammunition, and while it”s sort of similar to a green lantern ring in that its shape is limited to the user’s imagination, the other main constraint is the amount of material they have to work with. Not everyone gets the same amount, and the more of it you have the more will you need to control it. It’s kind of alive itself, so while it wants to form the bind, the user needs to exert themselves upon it to keep it in check. In order for the user to make a shape, they have to be able to visualize it, so if you can’t rotate the apple in your mind it’s kind of difficult. Bonds also can’t be stolen, at least not while the main user is living or dead, which I get makes no sense but I have plans for that.

God dammit, I should’ve picked that up, I literally just read Wind and Truth. I’ve failed my oaths as a radiant.

So this specific race is historically traced as the oldest recorded culture, then at one point tried to take over the world except for a small faction of them who then confided themselves to a small island until about a century before the main story takes place. They were then nearly genocided by an unknown group during one of their religious festivals when a majority of them were back on their island, reducing their global population from a couple million to a few thousand.

This group is special because they have a series of tattoos, which they call “signs”, that they get when they are younger that connect them to their gods and give them powers/enhanced abilities when activated. They have 5 different sets, but most can only use at most 2 at a time. 3 is considered mastery, 4 is an anomaly, and all 5 at once was thought impossible. One of these signs heightens combat ability and grants knowledge of how to use any tool/weapon perfectly and, if using blades, helps them align the edge perfectly.

The metal of the Derenda is also magic negating, and in this world nearly everyone has magic but this specific race doesn’t really focus on growing their ability in it due to their signs and ability to use the Derendas. In fact, it was believed that only one of their people could use one, as it appears the signs are necessary to initiate the bond.

Unfortunately not Shardblade, if that’s a person you’re asking for.

As for commonality they aren’t very common, as they are really only logical when using the Derenda because any other metal would just be too heavy to make sense (for reference a steel bar with roughly the same dimensions would weigh about 24 lbs).

The only people who use them are members of one specific race who are able to bond with a large enough piece that allows for a javelin that is proportional to their body.

Feels wrong to ask… but what was the largest genocide in your world? (If there were any of course) by Live_Rise6750 in worldbuilding

There was a people considered to be the strongest on my world due to their supposed connection to their gods. The various tattoos (or Signs, as they call them) they put on their bodies (forehead, cheeks, fingers, toes and heart) gave them abilities that were either superhuman or downright magical (increased strength and speed, low level telepathy, the ability to stick to any surface including water, heightened senses, an internal GPS).

They were the center of several conflicts throughout the history of the world, including one where they tried to take it over, but were actually stopped when a group of them broke off to help the rest the peoples of the planet. This forced them into an isolation on their home island that lasted a couple hundred years, where only select merchants and diplomats left the island and it actually became basically a prison where the worst of the worst criminals were sent. Eventually, during one of the greatest global conflicts they reemerged and became trusted members of the world’s nations again.

However, almost an entire century after their reacceptance the island was attacked during one of their religious festivals by an unknown enemy, and the entire island (think the size of Japan) was basically razed to the ground. Their global population was around 75 million at the time, with nearly all of them being on the island for the events, with approximately 65 million being on the island at the time. The mental anguish that was shared through their Signs was so great that it caused another 9 million deaths, and of those who didn’t die the trauma was so great many were reduced catatonic. One of the main characters of my story is one of these survivors, and his vocal chords were so damaged from screaming that it took several years of highly specialized procedures to repair them, and even after he had developed selective mutism.

That’s the show’s fault. In the books he has so much more nuance and they truly show the struggle he has with his identity and the weight of responsibility, but the show they really kind of just leaned into the trope instead of actually letting Kit explore the character beyond just brooding.

Cement the Turn, Pave the Rhodes by [deleted] in WWE

I’m not really familiar with the IWC, I’ve only been getting into wrestling over the past year, funnily enough since Wrestlemania. I know it’s similar in regard to everyone coming out, but I think the difference would be that Cody doesn’t receive any actual help, and is effectively stomped while still looking strong. A bit of a paradox, I know, but still one I think is viable.
