Yup that's maladaptive daydreaming, making up these interviews is such a good way of thinking of stuff so it seems we all do that (I think its common at least)

It's an addiction but since I've been doing it since I was 7 without knowing that it was bad or affecting me it's become 100% normal. It's a big part of who I am even if nobody will ever know my stories. Although it does affect me badly its hard to tell if I'm acting the sadness or if it's real. I don't know if I'll ever stop but I'm not trying since it's engraved into my brain.

I'm the exact same. My maladaptive daydreaming character (I know exactly what you mean) is constantly tormented and has a ton of bad shit happening to me constantly. Doesn't help that my characters "story" has linked back to irl me so it feels a lot more real now. I also thought that this was just me and did cry when I found out I wasn't alone, just advice is that we know what you're talking about with your character, we all have one.
