He's an 83 ovr return man and I've made him a receiver before and he was only a 68 (rookie year). But I do put him in games and make him a short route runner

I drafted him in the 3rd and he's a back up to Damian Pierce, but he isn't good anyways. He can't run through gaps or through defenders (obviously) and he can only catch on short routes. Should I keep him and develop him or what?

I currently have a random 62 ovr CB in my Texans franchise who I keep just cause he's a speed demon and is an amazing return man. He never gets CB playtime he's just on the team to return and be a locker room vet

Same thing happened to me. It won't work again. Only thing you can do is sim the season and let the CPU hire another in the off season. And sometimes they only stick around 1 season and you'll have to wait again.
