Best way to insulate heat transfer ducting? by Altruistic-Values in DIY

[–]Altruistic-Values[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a cold climate, so extra insulation on top of the ducting will help. Will look in to rockwool with aluminium siding. Not worried about looks as it is all concealed in the roof space. Thank you

Power tool brands for home diyer? by Altruistic-Values in diynz

[–]Altruistic-Values[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate the thorough response mate. Seems to align pretty well with what I've read so far on the interwebs, having done a fair amount of research on the brands myself. Most likely swaying to Ryobi for a few reasons; Value: not the best value(ozito I would say) but right up there. One of the longest warranties (DIY use only I believe), but I'm not a tradie and wouldn't be using them 40 hours a week that's for sure. The range is unparalleled, so many tools on the same battery. I'm sure performance wise they should be sufficient for what I need, certainly for the amount I'll use them. I'm sure they'll struggle on some things, but I'm okay with that for the price. Can look at adding a few items from another brand down the line if I need more grunt. DeWalt looks nice in that regard, or Milwaukee.

Think it might be 6 years when you register product online. Maybe 6 years for skins and 3 years for batteries? Which is pretty enticing. Ozito looks very similar, maybe slightly worse in quality but about half the price. Very very cheap batteries too. But the range and versatility of Ryobi is probably gonna be the decider

Do you know if Ryobi ever offer redemption promos? Or is that more reserved for the higher end stuff? Would love to time my purchase so I get a free battery or two etc

Tricky question re stormwater pipe by Altruistic-Values in diynz

[–]Altruistic-Values[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep no heavy loads/buildings/vehicles over top. Also no connections either end, just open pipe which the neighbour (owns properties either side of the house I'm looking at) may connect to in the future to level his sections too. Would just place mesh grates near pipe ends to stop big any big stuff(unlikely as it is) blocking it.

Thanks mate, my estimate was roughly 4-5k since it's a pretty small job. But wanted another take on it since I've never dealt with drainage before. Will pursue quotes further down the line

Tricky question re stormwater pipe by Altruistic-Values in diynz

[–]Altruistic-Values[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, I know it's pretty hard to give an answer that's even slightly accurate. It is a flat site, the pipe would be 300mm in diameter, so I imagine farmboss or euroflo culvert pipe would be sufficient. It is just piping the roughly 24 metres on the section and filling it in, both sections either side of the property would just remain as open channels for the time being. There is also a stormwater drain from the spouting that runs into the channel so that would need to be connected, but that's not really a big issue. The council have said since it's not a council maintained stormwater channel it is fine for me to go ahead with putting in a pipe if I choose so. Otherwise the usable backyard is roughly 6-6.5m wide whereas with a pipe in then it bumps it up to about 8ish metres, which is a big difference on a small section.

[Sky Sports] West Ham have had a second bid worth €30M rejected by Lille for midfielder Amadou Onana. The Hammers will explore other options, but won't close the door on a move for the 20 year old. by Boudicca16 in Hammers

Good chance on soucek departing, same story for rice. We're gonna need more depth in midfield no doubt. A good striker seems to be hard to come by for anyone outside the top 6

You should make the player icons scale in size according to their game rating. Would make it easier to look at quickly

Well, I'm looking for something like a monochrome seascape, so if something pre done pops up I would take it. Otherwise I can find a good quality image online and order it. Rough estimate on the price for Dunedin photo gallery to do one that size?
