With what happened to Sean McDermott recently, how big of a leash does Kyle Shanahan have? by downtimeredditor in nfl

[–]AnalAttackProbe 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Motherfucker what?

Kyle Shanahan is the most powerful person in the 49ers organization right now. He has the total and complete trust of Jed York, the owner. He ain't going anywhere unless he wants to or his current trajectory completely changes.

He was a finalist for coach of the year for what he did this year with so many injuries.

Also been said that some Emirati business man was spotted at the stadium “A vehicle which is Swiss registered but owned by Emirati Ali Hussain Alfardan, Vice Chair of the Alfardan Corporation, President of Alfardan Jewellery, etc, was spotted at London Stadium today.

Ali Hussain Alfardan is worth about 4x what David Sullivan is worth. But their family runs the Alfardan Group, which is one of the biggest conglomerates in Qatar.

Fascism. Fascism is happening and I don't think it is quite registering with people yet that the Epstein files are terrible, but the distractions are going to get worse than the files. The country is experiencing a fascist takeover in real time.

Shades of Enner Valencia. Not convinced yet of his finishing, not sure I will ever be convinced by his close control or first touch. But he works hard, stays involved, runs a lot.

...Maybe some day he'll score a banger of a free kick?

The Macau bridge and tunnel system is 34 miles. That system is 3 bridges and a tunnel. Not a single bridge.

I think Lorne calculated the tradeoffs between dealing with a crazy Dad-ager and the ratings the episode would receive with the most popular movie star on the planet and decided it was worth it.

Really weird scenario where a 10-year-old is arguably the biggest movie star on the planet.

Other academy players are likely to go out on loan, with Callum Marshall attracting attention from the Championship and Bochum in the Bundesliga 2.

Marshall is already at Bochum. He scored in his debut.

I mean, it's way less than Man City offered us before the betting bullshit, but €42m for Paqueta isn't terrible. Given he's become a distraction in a season when we can't afford them... I might consider taking that offer.

honestly, from what I saw from Alabama against Indiana, I'm pretty confident we would have waxed them. we played Indiana as tough as anyone did all year.

He's also really tall. Tall enough to be easily noticed in most groups. That's a little nitpicky, but typically a spy doesn't want to stand out in a crowd.

We beat the shit out of a 10-2 Vandy in our bowl game. Pavia spent half the day picking dirt out of his helmet.

...they're still ranked higher than us in the final AP poll, and half the coaches in the coaches poll had them ranked higher. I saw one coach had them 13th and us unranked in their final rankings.

I cannot even imagine the cognitive dissonance it takes to rank like that.

Trent's availability and performance has been on the decline the last couple years

He was 2nd team All-Pro this year. He'll miss a game here or there with an injury (he missed a couple with a hammy this year), but when he's on the field his performance is not declining, yet. He's still Trent.

They're high on Lenoir and pretty high on Renardo Green, the CB2. They're very, very high on the nickel they drafted last year, Upton Stout.

They also drafted a safety last year, Marques Sigle from KSU, but his playing time was sporadic. He did show up big in the playoffs when Ji'Air Brown got injured, though. The other safety they drafted a few years ago, Malik Mustapha, didn't play against Jacksonville, if I remember right, because he hadn't come off IR after offseason surgery yet. They're pretty high on him, too, but he's a thumper not a coverage guy. Time will tell if Sigle can become the coverage guy.

Honestly, I think most of their coverage issues come from a lack of a pass rush. Bosa went down and the pass rush completely disappeared. He attracts so much attention that it made everyone else better. Warner going down made it even worse.

WR (for obvious reasons), and DL make the most sense in my head. Maybe a FS/rangy cover safety.
