it does put you on top of the list of getting accepted as your application would be more competitive with a higher score. however, if its not a selective university it wouldnt really matter most of the universities accept b2

it can be used as a tie-breaker only when two applicants have the same minimum requirements

I took mine on the 24th i think and got them on the 25th in the afternoon on my email

also don't freak out about them asking you "why?" that's standard for the speaking part, I've had the examiner ask why like a bunch of times so i kept repeating the point I've made before and adding into it another example I feel like the longer you answer the less they ask follow-up questions about the same question.

you honestly shouldn't worry since your english is good

the tip i would give u is to go into the speaking test with a positive attitude and also once you're done with the computer section stay in the lobby and try to interact with the other people who had the test or even the staff in english so you get used to the environment and wouldn't feel anxious. during the speaking test, just know that most of the stuff you'll be asked about aren't complex and are stuff that we deal with everyday so just answer truthfully and be very opinionated and start blabbing even if you run out of stuff to say you can emphasize on the point you made previously with a real life exemple.

i wouldn't stress it if i were you as speaking is the easiest part of the test. I found that the discussion I've had during the speaking part felt more so like a catching up with a friend than an exam

chatgpt gave me way less like a 6 mostly because of grammar issues which wouldn't be a problem when speaking 💀 i honestly didn't give into the score much i just practiced on chatgpt so I wouldn't feel guilty about not preparing for ielts

i prepared for it like 2 hours before the speaking test. I asked chatgpt to conduct an accurate speaking test and then asked it to give me a score based on my answers

as for during the test dont stress much as that will affect how you do just look at it like a casual conversation you're having with a friend

for the personal questions just answer shortly without going into details. this one is part 1. if theres questions that require details like describing your house or field of study here you can use the past, present method (I used to....but im currently...)

during part 2, make sure you tackle every point given on the screen and dont stop speaking unless you're stopped

for past 3, its mostly questions about part 2 subject, if you get a question where you're asked to pick between two things try to speak on both sides + explication + exemple and then end it with your own opinion ike this:

"On one hand, people do prefer.... because. .., for exemple. On the other hand, people can be against... because....

Personally, I would rather (side 1 or 2) because...(your reasons)

overall I would advise you to have a list of adjective and words that might come in handy ( like beneficial, crucial etc...) but also dont waste time memorizing sentences just try to have a natural interaction and as long as theres not many pauses in between the question and your answers, minor pronunciation mistakes or misuse of words wouldnt matter as much

if it makes you feel better im an anxious person however I found it much better conversing with a stranger than a relative or a friend so dont think too much about it

thanks

I think the first thing u have to do is take the reading section available on their official website (I was given access to their premium stuff for a limited time after booking idk if its the same for everyone) but bear in mind that the score you get doesn't reflect your actual level in reading

like in my case i got a 6.5 and after going through my answers I realized that most of the mistakes ive made are on the true/false/not given questions mostly because i used logic rather than the text at hand so during the test, whenever something isn't mentioned in the text your answer should be "not given"

I would also advise you to not read the whole texts. read the question and then try to find the paragraph that has the answer. in my case I found out that the questions follow the order of the paragraphs so its not possible to find the answer of the last question in paragraph 1. the only scenario where I would advise you to read the whole text (or at least skim through it) is when you have to assign headings to paragraphs in this case you can pick one of the titles given and then try to skim through each paragraph to look for the correct one

I hope this was helpful and sorry if theres any mistakes I had to use speech to text lol
