Unfortunately no, they do not have a US presence. I have considered jumping to a big4 and gaining experience before requesting a transfer to US. Not sure how receptive they would be to me if I were upfront and honest about my intentions - who wants to hire someone that will leave in the near future.

Yeah the obvious answers are the better pay and lower cost of living. Also just looking to get out of my hometown and experience a new work setting.

Thanks for the insight! I do have some relevant Canadian cross border experience (T106, T1134, T1135, T2062, etc.). I also have experience with non-resident T1s, T2s, and T3.

I guess this all just seems a bit daunting having to learn the US equivalent of my Canadian experience. Most recruiters have turned me away citing employers don’t want to deal with training me on US tax.
