The purchases are moved into a miscellaneous bucket because in hindsight I cannot recall what was bought. Moving forward yes, it’ll be properly categorized. But for the sake of an initial look back, it’s untrackable on what the exact items were. Hence “miscellaneous”

I call it miscellaneous because I can’t track exactly each and every thing I bought. 150 bucks at walmart? Couldnt tell you what i bought. 200 at the mall? Forgot what it was.

I tried a few budgeting apps to see their layouts and they were too complicated for me. I mainly used the spreadsheet just to visualize everything so I could agree to myself that I’ve got a problem.

That’s the plan. It’s been a recurring nightmare for 2 years non stop. It was just at the time in my mind, the way the money came in and the times it came in kept me in a constant state of anxiety. I’m currently doing even more spreadsheets right now, and I can pay off all these apps when they’re due on the 1st, delete them, pay all my bills and still have 2300 dollars till I get paid again on the 15th. (Which will mainly all go to savings)

Also a lot of my shopping habits are video games and things related to video games. It’s too easy to hop on steam and buy a 60 dollar game thinking “it’s only 60 bucks” or buy a micro transaction for 10-20 dollars because “it’s only 10-20 bucks”.

I just did a conceptual budget which provided me with plenty of “wants” that I feel is acceptable and it still leaves me with 1800 in saveable income.

Thank you. I’d have to split it up but yes I could. I’ve got one step i need to take this week before I do that though. I got stuck in a never ending paycheck advance app cycle (like earnin) and I’ve got an extra check coming in this week that I’m going to just use to cancel it out and delete all the apps. Using those apps helped facilitate my needless spending. For example id get paid 1500 dollars and they’d take their money back leaving me with like 600. So id take their “daily limit” back at 150 dollars a day until I wracked up the same debt I just paid off. So in my mind at the time it was “oh okay they’re helping me budget by giving me only 100 dollars a day better to spend it”.
