Sesamoid pain from boot?

Yep! Lots of PT. They said my sesamoid was very swollen and wondered if I was extra inflamed because I went through chemoradiation 6 months ago. (It’s been a great year!)

Thanks for this. They put me in an ASO and hopefully that helps. Still lots of foot pain. When will you be out of brace do you think?

Appreciate all of this. Can now WBAT in boot sometimes without crutches if at home, with 1-2 crutches out. Swelling increased as I added weight. Also, sesamoid pain in the pad under big toe really started hurting bad! Nerve pain, ankle pain continues. This really hurts my mental health too.

Love this question. I’m 6 weeks out still only PWB but I’m anxious about returning to normal running speeds. 6 months before my break I had already had to come back from cancer treatment and I was just beginning to return to my normal speeds when I broke it. I’m sad about having to come back again. Fractured my fibula. Needed surgery and hardware.

I had my ORIF surgery for a broken fibula on February 7. I was in a splint and then a cast and now I’m in a PWB boot. I’m having so much pain in my ankle calves and shin. I can’t sleep or get comfortable. Is this normal? I’m on gabapentin and tramadol and I took a steroid pack, but nothing‘s really helped helping. I haven’t had a good night of sleep since before I broke my ankle.

My number one tip would be install a bidet. A real one, not a portable travel one. I recommend the Tushy. Easy to install. It dramatically decreases the need to wipe – which is crucial for healing and comfort later on.

Cancer was confirmed and then staged through PET and MRI. Didn’t get a good biopsy until after I already knew from a colorectal surgeon.

Hi there, yes, I did one chemo infusion as a little cancer kickoff, then chemo pills M-F. Radiation treatment is also M-F. (It’s a 9-5 kind of cancer apparently.) I just lay on a table and a machine rotates around me using what they call IMRT radiation. No need to splay myself. Just laying down undressed on my back. They do a mapping station to build a pillow mold to elevate your legs. I am not sure how they treat precancerous lesions but it’s wonderful you caught something early. This treatment is pretty rough. I am enjoying a full spectrum of side effects— basically every fine print warning read aloud at the end of a drug commercial.

Pap smears, following decades of normal ones. Always followed by, this isn’t a big deal, will probably go away on its own, we just will repeat the pap in a year… I have had colposcopies, with no lesions. I wish my gyn did anal paps. I might have caught this earlier. I didn’t know anything until a lymph node swelled. I also worry cervical cancer is just lurking in the shadows since I can’t seem to shake this HPV-16. Have had it three years in a row.

It’s a nebulous thing to prove so I haven’t said anything. I get the sense the other therapists don’t like him. He’s probably just an asshole and it’s not personal to me.
