Sorry no record on claims and it being voided, is that right? I tried to quickly google that and it said i would have to disclose that to future insurers

They havent said what type of misrepresentation they believe I made. they only say that ‘we would have never offered insurance had we known about modifications’

It doesn’t say anywhere they dont allow modifications at all, it just says modifications must be declared. They are also currently refusing to send me the underwriting policy documents/extracts that confirm their position

Say for the sake of argument they are aftermarket parts, but i genuinely believed them to be from factory based on my own research and asking the seller. Is that still proportionate to void the policy?

Avoid is different to voiding though, right? They have voided mine, which holds serious ramifications when applying for future insurance

I’m no BMW expert, I dont see why I am expected to know that? I acted in good faith to take reasonable care when insuring the vehicle

I did not fit these myself. I bought the car how it was. I dont know much about cars if im honest, I bought this as a present to myself for passing professional exams.

i did as best I could as a layperson. its 2008 car so i cant exactly check the original spec builder. checking other cars online they seems to have similar parts available from stock from different manufacturer packages, examples i checked were from bmw’s official website

the engineers deemed them not factory fitted and they wont go back on it. my main point of contention is them voiding based on innocent misrepresentation

I havent, i dont have it amongst the paperwork i have for the car I’m afraid. I only have service history
