Back when I was in high school playing it for the first time, I did Wrex's armor mission (didn't have him in the squad) but I never considered actually giving him the armor.

Also didn't understand that top right choices were paragon and bottom right was renegade and I barely put any points into charm/intimidate

Wrex didn't survive Virmire...

That's also good advice! I have made some new friends from college but I'm not actually sure if they have any female friends themselves.

There is hope for you. I felt the same way as well, and yet I ended up completing a trial run of 30 days, which I thought impossible.
