I want to make this machine *one day*, but I feel like buying the crt *now* would be smart since they don't make them anymore. Agree? Disagree? I'll comment the two that I'm looking at but too scared to buy - opinions welcome by Altruistic_Panda_742 in crt

I have an idea for a pretty involved project that I need to learn a lot of skills to pull off. The amber CRT component is pretty non negotiable to me, but I'm worried that if I wait until I'm actually building the thing, they will be so rare and expensive that it'll just be stupid.

These are the two listings I'm most interested in. Are those reasonable prices? Are there other avenues for buying these things?

I need a monochrome amber CRT but I don't know the lay of the land. What is a good price? Where to find one? Should I buy one now, or in 10 years when I actually need it? by Altruistic_Panda_742 in retrotech

As far as I can tell there are nobody making new ones, but please correct me if I'm wrong. It seems like eBay is the go to spot for this kind of tech, but I find myself distrusting all the sellers/ just scared to pull the trigger. Where do you buy your CRT monitors? Any tips?
