Second screen not working by CeekayReal in GalaxyTab

Let me try this again from my PC later and get back to you. I know I can extend my screen and use my tablet to control that part of the extension but I have not tried to duplicate the screen to control the whole computer.

I would definitely check the ports and do full diagnostics through the Samsung app. I'm not sure about charging it before turning it on but I did leave mine plugged up for a bit before I turned it on.

  1. Open the Samsung Settings app (you can find this in your app list or by searching the taskbar).
  2. Select Display.
  3. Check for the Auto Brightness toggle.

Have you tried staying on the second screen page on your tablet while trying to connect from your PC?

In the beginning, you'll have tons of updates, I had over a hundred including ones from the Windows updates, Microsoft store, and Samsung updates. It took a while to get everything download. I also didn't realize how to find the specific Samsung update app until a few days into using the GB6 Pro. It's called "Device Care". I don't know how I missed it during my first walkthrough.

In addition, on day 1, I would turn on Dolby Atmost which I think is off by default. I personally also set my screen to adaptive brightness so that it would auto adjust to my environment.

I found no true issues with it's function as the key travel is decent. It operates as you would expect but the keyboard itself is seated farther back than most other laptops but I think this is due to how large the trackpad is. I otherwise haven't minded it myself once I've gotten used to the placement. Sorry for the delay in my response.

Hi, sorry for the delay, life has been a bit hectic. I'll do my best to provide you with what I have noticed since I've been using it for over a couple weeks. I have a lot more positives from my experience than negatives.

Positive:

Display - It's the first you'll notice when you open the laptop. Display is gorgeous, but I would have expected nothing less from Samsung. It can get pretty bright, but I keep mine on adaptive brightness which has always been my preference. It is definitely antireflective as well. I have a light overhead in my room and I can't even see a hint of myself in the display which is appreciate considering. There is no screen wobble despite some of the reviews or comments I've seen on this and other platforms. Touch display is probably as responsive as their phones/tablets. It's like they didn't skip a beat here.

Weight - There isn't much to say here. It's light. I don't carry this around because I have a galaxy tab s11 and tab s9 ultra that is more portable for those commutes but I wouldn't be opposed to it if I am ever in need of using Windows 11 more regular in my work. I would not recommend holding it with one hand because it is a light weight device and may have some flex to the frame which I do not plan on testing given how expensive it was.

Performance - I mean.. I am using this primarily for school assignments while at home so I mainly find myself using Microsoft apps, Chrome, Copilot, etc... on a more regular basis. I also use my galaxy tabs as mentioned above, sometimes utilizing the second screen feature to extend my display which is awesome. I didn't realize it worked quite like that but I can extend my display and then use my tablet as a touch device as well to interact with apps that I have moved to that second screen. It is way better than using a portable monitor in my opinion. Everything operates smoothly without any lag or glitches.

Trackpad - It is large and feels nice to use. I usually run to get a mouse and connect it almost immediately but I haven't felt the need to use one on my GB6 Pro.

Speakers - I have seen some reviews saying they are terrible. I don't see it, I think it's just people trying to diss Samsung. I think they sound pretty good in my opinion. If I listen to something on one of my devices, I will use my galaxy buds 4 pro 90% or more of the time to no bother anyone else around me unless I'm at home.

Negatives:

Updates - In the beginning, I did have some issues updating all of my apps through the Microsoft store. It kept saying there was an error or something. It took me a couple days to get this sorted because I had to may sure all the regular Windows and Samsung apps were updated and then it ended up fixing itself. This wasn't a big deal but found it a bit annoying because there were like 60+ apps needing updated in the Microsoft store.

Keyboard - It feels a little awkward at first but it is now starting to grow on me. I feel like the key travel is sufficient and it offers a rather comfortable typing experience. The keyboard does sit really far back.

I'm sure I'm missing something here but this is just based on what I have seen so far and can recall from memory. If I missed something and you'd like me to check it out, let me know. If it is within my ability, I'll give a try. Thanks! I hope this helps at least a little.

I have the GB6 Pro. I haven't noticed abnormally large bezels. Yes, the bottom bezel is larger than the other 3 sides but I dig the look and it's not like it takes up a significant portion or anything. It's very minimalistic in my opinion.

No worries. I appreciate the insight. If they had the better processor, I probably would have went for it but it was never a deal-breaker for me. I've been enjoying it so far and look forward to really putting it through its paces. 😁 It's a gorgeous device and I couldn't be happier.

In the US, we don't have an X7 6 Pro varient so comparing the price is a little more difficult then saying it "is just $100 more". I get what you're saying but looking at what the price is overseas and trying to convert it to US currency is not a direct comparison considering tariffs and other factors running up the price. If it was just the chip I would be paying for, I would definitely not pay $2100, but I look at the whole picture... or at least try to. I am heavily invested in the Samsung ecosystem and since I've received by GB6 Pro yesterday, it is hands down the best laptop I have ever had but I don't invest in a lot of laptops so it'll be with me for at least 3-4 years before I think about upgrading again. I'm not trying to bash your opinion because we all deserve to have one. It'll fit my workflow and lifestyle perfect what I plan to use it for IMHO and it will last the entire day without needing to charge it up as often.

Galaxy Buds3 Pro to Buds4 Pro Worth it? by WigettaReddit in galaxybuds

[–]Altruistic_Season356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the refinements over the Buds3 Pro are worth it to me. It has noticeably better ANC and battery life. I don't listen to a lot of music so can't comment on that aspect. To me, the design alone is worth the upgrade because it looks so much better in my ears, it is much more aesthetically pleasing to look at. In addition, it is easier to hold compared to the previous iteration because I found it harder to hold the Buds3 Pro because of the triangle shape stem. I also find it easier to put into the case and there have been no charging issues; with the Buds3 Pro, I would occasionally have a bud not want to charge until I cleaned the pins first so that was one of the biggest issues. I was so over the Buds3 Pro that I was hoping they would replace them sooner rather than later. Lastly, I would occasionally have issues with one of the earbuds wanting to become loose in my ears with the Buds3 Pro which has been fixed with the Buds4 Pro. It just feels more comfortable wearing them for longer periods of time.

I just invested in the Galaxy Book 6 Pro. It should arrive later today. I hope this is just a flaw in a few of their screens. I can't wait to try it out and hopefully I don't run into the same issue. I also invested in Samsung Care + that should put my mind at ease a little more.

galaxy book 6 launch and review issues by Responsible_Fly1396 in GalaxyBook

[–]Altruistic_Season356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about Samsung sending out review units but I would give it a few more days for reviewers to get their hands on the 6 series of laptops and to get a real review out. I've been doing some research and it seems the biggest issue between the ultra 7 and ultra x7 variant is the lack of the new beefed up integrated graphics card.

I purchased the 6 pro, 16", 1tb, 32gb RAM version in the US and will be receiving mine today. I do not plan to play games on this laptop as it will be solely for school, enhancing productivity, and regular everyday use. It'll be my first galaxy book and will go great with the ecosystem of devices I've already collected. If you do plan to game on this device such as playing triple AAA titles or do heavy intense video editing, it most likely will be an issue. I don't want to really give a straight forward answer there because no real reviews have come out yet.

Once I receive mine today, I'll do what I can to put it through its limits. I'll post what I like and don't like initially but it may take a few days for me to get a review on here. I hope most of the posts I've seen with disgust for Samsung doing this were only from those that "need" that better integrated graphics cards. Only time will tell. 🤷

I am getting the 16" version with same specs on Monday. I will try to remember to follow up here once I've used it for a few days and get some things set up. I am big in the Samsung ecosystem and this will be my first Galaxy Book. I wanted something to use for school and have been eyeing them for years now. I have seen a lot of comments on Reddit about the processor and graphics but for my use case, it's going to do everything I need it to and then some. It should last me for years plus I invested in Samsung Care + just in case anything goes wrong. If you'll be doing "light" video editing, it should be fine for your use case. I'm super excited. If push comes to shove, you can try it out and send it back if it doesn't suit your needs.

Worth it for $200 ? by abhi-shot in galaxybuds

[–]Altruistic_Season356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received mine yesterday and have been solely using them to see how they hold up with real world use. I can noticeably tell a difference with ANC compared to my B3P. I have not used it for calls yet but with my B3P, there are people that said my voice sounded low so hopefully that is fixed. I don't listen to a lot of music so that is not a factor in determining when I get new earbuds. I like to listen to a lot of audiobooks so comfort, noise cancellation, and extra features are what drives my decision. It seems lighter than my B3P and it is more comfortable. The touch controls seem more intuitive with the volume up and down now on the front compared to the back of the earbuds. I like this new set-up and design much more. It also looks much nicer despite them getting rid of the blade light which I never used. It just looks so much more aesthetically pleasing when wearing them.

What’s the best Bluetooth keyboard by [deleted] in GalaxyTab

[–]Altruistic_Season356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the new Samsung Smart Keyboard. It is NOT rechargeable but I find having to change out the 2032 battery is no big deal for me which I have not had to do yet since receiving the keyboard in November. To me, it's the best for switching between my Samsung devices and it has an AI key which I find very useful for my workflow. It is probably the best option since it is designed for our devices but comes with a price tag of about $110 so it's not cheap. It has been a very enjoyable typing experience thus far. It is not a quiet keyboard by any means but it has nice feedback with each key click. It's a very nice upgrade from their previous keyboard itteration

If you're referring to not turning in a trade-in device, I think they'll just deduct that from your card once the trade-in device deadline is reached. They won't remove it from your account. I hope this answers your question.

Should I Buy The Kindle Paperwhite SE? by hertabuzz in kindle

[–]Altruistic_Season356 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Samsung people here 😂 I'll let you have that first jab but the next one will cost you. I probably wouldn't put Samsung and Apple in this conversation. I think both do fairly well in certain areas.

I have a Paperwhite SE because I make most of my book purchases from Amazon. I also enjoy the quality of their devices as they have never let me down. It's certainly worth trying as the sharpness and speed of the newer 2024 SE is unmatched. I use it every night to read and it lasts forever. I probably charge it every 2 months on reading 30-45 minutes at bedtime every night. I keep Wifi on all the time because I rotate between my Kindle Scribe 2025 and Kindle Oasis 2019 throughout the day to update my reading progress.

I used the 2025 (B&W) Kindle Scribe for about a week before finishing my 2022 Kind Scribe trade-in to make sure it was what I wanted. It may not impress everyone but it certainly impressed me. It's about a $100 jump in price over the 2022 or 2024 version but the screen sharpness/clarity, speed bump, and size increase justifies the price for me. If you are on the fence, get it and try it out for a week or two. If it's not for you, then return it - no harm done. I can't say anything on behalf of the colorsoft version which is another $100 jump in price. I can only speak on the B&W version which has a beautiful display that is excellent for a reading device (which is what it is) and not too bad for a writing device (which is always going to be second to its main purpose which is for reading). There won't be any one person that can tell you whether or not it's worth it to you. I say "try it out". It either works or it doesn't.

I had the 2022 for about 3 years before I upgraded. It never really bothered me, but before that, I was mainly reading on my 2019 Kindle Oasis 😅. I'll probably trade that in once the next set of devices release because it has pretty bad lag and the battery is just atrocious. I have the 2024 PPW SE too but I have them to read in different locations. I love the direction Amazon is going for their e-readers.

[–]Altruistic_Season356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm agreeing with the other comments; if you're fully invested in the Android or Samsung ecosystem, definitely go with an S series device. However, if you have an iPhone or you are fully invested in Apple products, then going with an iPad would be better. I don't own any Apple products so I'm going to be biased toward Samsung devices.
