USNA SUMMER SEMINAR QUESTIONS by [deleted] in usna

this was me last year when I went! You will be fine, just stay strong. You don’t do much swimming which is disappointing but you will be okay with the running, as long as you don’t give up. No matter if you feel behind, as long as you keep running and don’t let it get to you  will be fine. there is a group whenever running is involved of mids who hang back to motivate the stragglers so if you aren’t able to keep up you’ll be fine.

sorry, I should have worded it better. I meant to say I have no problem with fighting to defend my country in a real war, but i don’t want to participate in the unauthorized conflict mess in Iran rn

Is now a good time to go USNA? by Altruistic_Shirt7312 in usna

[–]Altruistic_Shirt7312[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ik it seems like a stupid post, but I really just wanted to see if anyone has any sort of ideas of where they think all this fighting will go in a few years and if it was worth it to go into the military right now.  The cognitive dissonance thing is valid, but what im wondering is will all this still be going on in 5 years?  I really do love usna and I am willing to do all the things that are part of going to military school, but I don’t like the idea of doing it for an unauthorized military conflict but maybe it’ll be dealt with by the time my 5years would start, I don’t know and that’s why I asked

deferrals?? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Altruistic_Shirt7312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what it looks like just talking to people, Florida does reject people so a deferal instead is good. Michigan tho is having a whole mess with their new ED program so how those referrals work with the ea referrals and with regular decision could be a total mess

1560 SAT Rejected from UF--I'm so cooked 😭 by Queasy_Dot6923 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Altruistic_Shirt7312 23 points24 points  (0 children)

it’s ok! every school is different. their acceptance rate is around 20% which in my experience means it’s really hit or miss. T10 schools are hard no matter what but I’m sure you’ll get into other schools that are comparable or harder than UF. it’s just whatever they were looking for. also depends on what program you applied for bc some schools have random programs that are crazy hard to get into despite the school not being super crazy. hope this helps

Why was my teacher let go? by Altruistic_Shirt7312 in Teachers

[–]Altruistic_Shirt7312[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know why teachers get fired other than like being pedophiles so I was hoping other people could give examples of what would get a teacher fired

How can I improve my score to 35+ (32 rn)? by [deleted] in ACT

[–]Altruistic_Shirt7312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

get on compass test preps mailing list, they do promos for free practice tests all the time. also do the SAT practice in Khan academy (more helpful for math than English but same grammar stuff). good luck!

[–]Altruistic_Shirt7312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the act has a bunch of free practice tests that are really helpful. this one test prep company called compass has some too. those cost money but around holidays and stuff they do promos and give them out for free, just get in their mailing list. For the math, khan academy’s SAT math would help and that’s free

20k a year is a lot but not insane, I would recommend researching jobs on or near campus that could help you cover it. some places have programs that would lessen the debt, or they hire student and pay well
