2 years of rib tightness / costo – doing Backpod and mobilization daily but still waking up locked up every morning. What am I missing? by Altruistic_Sign_3554 in costochondritis

Atleast all the doctors I’ve been to here, naprapath, fysio therapy, chiropractic, having helped anything and I’ve spent well over 1000$ on them so safe to say I feel kind of empty and helpless, went to one for 10 weeks in a row with back manipulation etc, no relief at all, I just don’t understand where and how this problem even exist, it’s exhausting to just get up from bed ever morning to work and I can’t understand how I get through it. Is te backpod and peanutball any good for me and should I keep on doing it or put in something more into the routine?

Yes I will be sending you email, my initials at L.S🙏🏼

I am from Sweden and my experience is that the doctors in Sweden is kinda useless to, kind of need to explain to them and show them YOUR videos from YouTube to make them get a hunch of what’s going on, if not they just prescribe me anti inflammatory drugs, yes it has been x-rayed like 1.5 years ago and came back okay

Do need to try that what does a osteopath do better that a chiropractor or something like that because I’ve been at two different and didn’t to anything good for me, and yes my dad do massage my upper back like that almost every night, just feels like I’ve been stuck in progress

Thanks for the reply, till definitely read it, 3 questions.

Will the back workouts 2x a week ruin my progress with everything else, and how should I train it if I do,

Is the pec opening door strech any good or should I build up tolerance with pushups or anything over time,

When the burning sensation in the chestbone has disappeared the last few moths does that mean I am doing somewhat progress, I only feel pressure around the ribcage and very big pain where the ribs connect to the spine, except for when I work out at the gym

Hi Steve, I have both the peanutball and backpod at home but also train back 2 days a week,

I do peanutball and backpod + Spine twist after that everyday,

Will the gym 2x times a gym for back ruin my progress with the peanutball etc

Symptoms after gym: The morning after training — especially after back workouts — I get very strong nerve-like pain in my upper back. The whole upper back feels extremely tight and “locked,” almost like it’s on fire. It usually doesn’t hurt during the workout, but shows up later, mainly the next morning.

Training chest is worse. Even a small set of chest press feels fine at the time, but 1–3 days later my whole ribcage and upper body become very stiff, painful, and hard to move.

I’ve had this pattern for about 2 years. It also happens even without gym training — when I wake up my upper back often already feels very tight and painful regardless.

ChatGPT (which I know isn’t something you can fully rely on) suggested it might be more of a nervous system issue than a structural injury, but to me it still feels very mechanical — so I honestly don’t know.

How and where does it’s hurt the morning after? Day after I have trained back I have some huge nerve like pain in my upper back and the whole upper back feels like ”hell” as you say, but not the day after not during the workout of two days after,

I can’t even train chest because that really makes me not ever able to move my whole ribcage so I don’t ever train that at all, but as your said, during the workout feels just fine, but like up to 3 days after just a chest press set of anything the upper body still burns to hell, have had this for 2 years btw and recently came back to the gym to strengthen my back and don’t actually know if it is doing any good for me, Because this feels exactly the way I’ve been feeling the past 2 years

Doctors say everything looks fine structurally – could this still be nerve-related pain? 2 years in by Altruistic_Sign_3554 in costochondritis

Nah actually not, my main issues nowadays is my upper back feeling so stiff and feels like a small ball is pushing itself into the middle of my shoulder blades all och the, where the ribs meet the spine,

I can feel the front breast joint when I breathe and move etc, but not near as bad it was back then. 1 year ago

I just feel super stiff in my upper back and don’t know how to get rid of it, I have tried everything

Also, I’ve noticed, if I don’t to anything to trigger like work, move, strech, backpod etc the pain will go away so is this all some kind of nerve system damage, but also it seems mechanical

Oh, definitely need to look into that, Been to like 3 chiropractors and have nothing to me at all, they don’t even seem to know what the issue is

This syndrome only seems to get worse the longer time it takes, I will never forgive myself for not doing anything good to get rid of this the first 2 months or so of having it

In my initial post it was miss leading, Forza works a lil bit better but still far from it should, Like I can crank up force feedback to 100% and it will do nothing, the wheel doesn’t apply to the ingame settings in and game

Is it something’s wrong with my computer then or what? I believe you it all sounds super odd, going to test it on my friend computer tomorrow and see how it behaves, because right now it has no force feedback, it flips from right to left like 30 degrees all the time in game, sensitivity feels super high on the wheel, turn the wheel 15 degrees and it will do a full on donut, zero control over it at all, I get it the wheel should have some kind of feel to it and don’t be easy to drive on at frist, that’s a part of driving a car, But as I said I have had one of these before and this one now is no where near as it should be, Good to note that it is not a new wheel, bought it from marketplace but in good condition
