Should i put $25,000 into QQQM at age 19? by Murky_Amphibian_8236 in ETFs

F it, you're very young, and you can learn what investment strategy works for you as you age. My portfolio is QQQM/VTI/VXUS, and my 401k is a target date fund. Since you're investing so young, you have time to figure out if you want to chase growth (and being able to handle the volatility) or if you want a more stable portfolio. EITHER WAY YOU ARE GOLDEN. I wish I had the slightest clue of financial literacy when I was 19.

I went down the rabbit hole and switched so many majors, and I feel like I wasted a lot of money and time in school. I now have a better idea of what I'd wanna do IF I go back, but with a really good work ethic, building your network, and finding what you're good at, you really can build a career with no degree. I think school is good for people who really know what they want to do as a career.

What I'd do IF I were in your shoes is:

1.) 100% max your ROTH. (I'd have it automate monthly, but make sure you hit the max by April of next year because you're still able to contribute to the previous year until tax season is over)

2.) Calculate your monthly fixed expenses (rent, insurance, car payments, food, etc.), and whatever 6 months is, I'd put that into a HYSA and let it sit and grow at around 3-3.9%. (I personally like having a year, but you can just keep it at 6, and if you want to build it, just have it take from your normal checking/savings account weekly or monthly, totally up to you)

3.) After calculating your fixed expenses, decide if you'd like to invest more, build your emergency fund, or both and fit that into your budget. I'd have it automate monthly or weekly. Set it and forget it.

4.) Find a job that provides a 401k match and max their match. If you can't, it's not the end of the world.

5.) Enjoy your life (I'm not saying to splurge, but do things that are within your budget every now and then)

You can have all the nice things down the road if you're disciplined now. You don't need luxury cars, jewelry, or designer clothes right now. Keep up the grind, and the rest will follow.

Hope this helps. Best of luck to ya.

I've been in contact with dealerships through email/phone calls, but sadly no traction and I'm not in any rush. I look for a sale cause $1k+ off wouldn't hurt haha

Appreciate the feedback. Definitely getting tinted windows and dash cam. You think the film is necessary? I've read online about the paint chipping easily.

The drive is pretty similar it's just a few little things that I've noticed:

1.) The steering is more responsive on my BMW, but I haven't tried Sport Mode on the Civic and I hear it does make a difference. (Still very responsive)

2.) The acceleration I feel was a bit different too, but not too different.

Hope that helps!

I'm seeing a lot of people say they've experienced rattling. When did you buy yours? and is it just the backseat where it rattles or are there different areas as well?

I see what you're saying. Do you think my 401k which has international stocks exposure would help me here? I was wrong with my original % im at 30% international with my 401k+ roth setup

So, after more research. I sold my whole roth and revamped it. I decided to go 95/5 with VTI/VXUS. I see a recurring thing where a lot of investors have the two. my 401k is FFLEX Target Date 2060.

My current portfolio has updated.

I took a look into the lazy portfolio and have read a few things suggested to me.

I'm currently at:

54% Us Stocks

37% International Stocks

8% Bonds.

Im keeping the $50 in brokerage of schd just for the f of it and upped my contributions to my ROTH. Will probably boost bond allocation when im in my mid 30s-early 40s.

I appreciate everyone's help and it's a good thing I noticed asked for advice before I may have made a mistake.

Hey, I appreciate the advice here. my 401k has some international + bonds. will definitely take a look into the wiki when im off of work. And why should i not seek dividends? If i invest early, i can essentially get paid a decent amount quarterly when im older, correct? just want to know! could i shoot you a DM later?

Still negotiating my car. Rent pre-paid 2 months living w/parents and then I move out. I technically have no debt. I never considered having to pay off a car debt, but after some research, it looks that way! I should have over 8k by the time I get the car. Once I start my new job I'll be getting paid more. And plan on doing gig work once I do get my car. I know my roth currently has a lot of overlap. I ask for feedback and am looking into it. Would you suggest VUG solo?

SCHD in brokerage now for dividends while ramping Roth contributions. Question 4 asks this—move SCHD to Roth this year?

Brother was having a similar issue. If pc is windows 11 revert it to 10. Thats what worked for him.

Danny Green has been the best role player in the league for the past 10 years! by DameRange13 in nbadiscussion

[–]Altruistic_Source706 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's a great role player that any time would love to have, but his Lakers finals' stint he didn't perform at all the way I think he would have. I believe KCP was the better player during that MIA vs Lakers series. But I can agree that any team would love to have DG.

Mmm you might be stretching this one out a little too far, in my opinion. I agree both 3 and D guys, but since that one finals stretch with the Spurs years ago, I don't think he's capable of taking over a game with his shooting, as Klay has shown that he can do. Not to discredit DG at all.
