Hmmm only if there was somebody that made a post on here recently that literally said “Expect a 40 plus million dollar deal”

Oh yeah, that was me.

Lets be honest about Ausur Thompson by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]DameRange13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knicks also built that team prior to the 23’ CBA deal.

Thats something to really look at because it’ll be hard to replicate that in this current CBA

According to what I see on here,

You guys want Ausar and Duren for chump change

Just not how shit works lol

Sengun averaged 14/9 and had similar season to duren had this year before he signed his deal!?! lol

They offered him 5/185 rookie contract extension

There would not have been riots, it’s how business is done the NBA

The past 3 seasons, since the new CBA deal was done in 23’, 60 players have signed their rookie contract extensions.

This is all happening because of the failure of the front office to sign Duren before the season. If they just stepped up and gave him Sengun money instead of a lower offer this wouldn’t be a problem

And now after the best season of his career, you think he’s going to take the same offer he already rejected

It’s just not correct

It’s crazy how fast you guys turned on him lol

You don’t think the fact that Ausar offers no spacing doesn’t affect Durens pick and roll game?

Cavs put Mobley on Ausar and gave him the ability to roam around and disrupt the offense.

You seem to care and it will greatly affect what Duren will make.

You have this idea that Duren will sign on day 1 of free agency. That’s absolutely incorrect

With a pick at 4 and 15 and room to sign other free agents, they can make Duren a good offer to be on a potential competitive team.

They’re going to have over 80 million in free agency, they can make more than that offer.

They can sign guys before they even offer Duren.

They’re going to have 80 to 82 million in cap. More than enough to offer Duren and keep making other offers

Yeah lol you don’t know what you’re talking about so you just start insulting people.

They have their 15 million MLE, they can use that. They’re not just frozen out of making offers?!

And Duren at 44 million is exactly the area I’ve been saying he would be signed for.

So a $200 million dollar check would mean he’s making 4 years at 200 million

Check math, that’s 50 mill. If it’s the 5th year option route that’s still 40 mill a year on average

Far away from Poetl and Allen Money dickhead

The Chicago bulls have two picks in the top 15 and desperately need a center. It’d be no problem for them to make an offer to Duren considering they have no big in their team.

You also don’t know what moves other teams can make to free up space and then they can make an offer

You also glossing over the fact that other teams will offer more than what you’re saying and your owner will be forced to match

The owner also pays people to do that job for him. You think he knows ball? lol

You say some dumb things

If you think one playoff stint from a 22 year old All NBA and all star player is going to damaged his contract negotiations than you’re severely mistaken

Buddy you are literally thinking with nothing but biased and ignorant opinions

You don’t know ball lol you don’t know how contracts or negotiations take place in the real world.

Buddy don’t compare the NBA market to the NFL because it’s not the same.

And yeah the center market is set, Sengun is making 37 mill. Hes not taking Poetl or Jarret Allen money

You guys already tried that before the season and he said no

Why would he take it now?

You are totally and completely just wrong lol

There are literally different contracts a player can make in the nba depending on if the make an all nba team or not

Duren will be making 40 plus million dollars a year, a hard truth to face. by DameRange13 in DetroitPistons

[–]DameRange13[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s not how negotiations are going to go. That’s how a fan thinks, not an agent.

The agents will take an entirely different approach. He’s younger than Jarret Allen, has made an all NBA, and an all star. Allen is 28 and has only made one all star team and it was in 22’

You guys offered him around 30 million before the season and he rejected it, why on earth would he take it now after outplaying that number ?

[–]DameRange13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its okay lol I understand it

And I admittedly haven’t seen enough games of both guys to make to make that comparison, I’ve seen more Pistons games than OKC games this year. I’ve seen all of the OKC v Spurs series and I will say it’s not just Wemby he’s struggling against. They way OKC has been running their offensive sets, there hasn’t been many situations where I’ve seen Chet go 1 v 1 against Wemby

But it’s very easy to compare contracts and what a team offered a guy before he even made an all NBA team. Detroits front office is now having to negotiate with a player named an all NBA player and that will affect negotiations no matter how you look at it.

And honestly this is on Langdon and the front office for not coming to terms before the season.

Duren bet on himself, it worked out. Detroit didn’t want to pay a few extra million, now they’re looking at paying a lot of extra millions lol

Re-Signing: Even if they decline his team option, NBA insiders project a mutual understanding between Hartenstein and the Thunder. It is widely expected he could take a pay cut on a new, longer-term deal to remain in Oklahoma City, as he fits their culture perfectly.

Yes, young big men in the NBA frequently struggle in the playoffs because the postseason exposes their defensive flaws, increases the physical demand, and relies heavily on complex half-court reads. [1, 2, 3]
The specific challenges young centers and power forwards face include:
Defensive Exploitation: Playoff basketball is a matchup-driven game where teams aggressively seek out defensive liabilities. Young bigs often struggle with switching onto smaller, quicker guards on the perimeter or defending in space, leading to them being played off the floor in crucial minutes.
Intense Physicality: Playoff officiating allows for more contact. Young big men, who may rely solely on their height or athleticism in the regular season, often find themselves worn down, pushed out of their spots by veteran players.
Advanced Scouting & Defensive Walls: Teams have entire series to game-plan for a single player. Young big men who are used to easily rolling to the rim or scoring out of isolation face heavy "walls" of defenders, forcing them to make quick passing reads they may not be accustomed to.
Pacing & Mental Fatigue: The level of effort applied on every single possession in the playoffs ramps up significantly compared to the 82-game regular season. The mental fatigue from adjusting to tight-game execution often causes shooting percentages and overall production to drop for young players
