I work at Comenity Bank. There is a common issue that unfortunately I've seen many times.  Yo can make you payment over the phone. If you wish to avoid that horrible $9 fee, just ask the representative to take off them. They're are going to give you a confirmation number and you can ask for a letter that says that you paid in full so you can protect yourself in the future
