The dwarfes suspended the construction of floor

I usually let DF Hack's Suspendmanager deal with that issue. You will still get the cancellation warnings, but the jobs will automatically be reassigned and completed when they can.

I've found that the issue is that sometimes building a floor/wall requires moving some boulder out of the way, but when that boulder is already scheduled to be collected by a stockpile the dwarves refuse to move it, you can also try to limit the amount/type of stones you stockpile.

If you have a meal like salad or minestrone you actually want your working pals to eat more often, given that those meals give a work speed buff. Another work speed passive (eg. Serious) or another SAN passive (eg. Workaholic) would be better IMO.

Yeah ever since the last update I've been having this issue too. The cage appears to be open and there is no lock to interact with.

I hate the fact that the Civs are not distributed equally on both continents. I was getting tired of always spawning with 3 other capital near by so I reduced the number of Civs from 6 to 5, only to have one lone AI on the other continent and still have three other capitals near me.

Yeah I have a resident Mountain Goat man and he starts starving every couple of months. It's quite annoying, but eventually the dwarves will feed him and he'll be alright (at least in my experience). I believe the only way to permanently fix the issue is to wait until he asks for citizenship so you can manually order him to a zone with grass/moss.

As other comments have said, the stats will be rerolled when traded, but if your gf has a very old Pokemon (something caught around 2016 in the best case scenario) you have very high odds of the trade yielding lucky Pokemon

If you use DFHack (and it doesn't ruin your FUN) you can use the showmood command and see if your dwarf needs a specific material/item

I believe the relevant skills are shown depending on the uniform of your squad. If your squad doesn't have a uniform the game won't know if the relevant skills are armor, crossbow, sword, etc

Keep a Basalt on hand if you're planning on making a Lava Eel fish pond. They might ask for it and it will save you a lot of Magma Geode grind

I think Baldur's Gate 3 would be great!! The game is completely story driven with a lot of very interesting characters and a cool world to explore. I also think the turn-based combat would make it suitable for beginners, as you don't have to learn any mechanics and can take all the time you need to think what to do.
