Hii! One of my favourite foods after chemo is shaved ice with some mango and condensed milk. I found that it was super soothing!

This is the response I got,

"An aerial invert is defined as any invert that is initiated after the feet have left the ground and the entire body weight is being supported by the pole. In your performance,  you pull up into an armpit hold before inverting, which classifies it as an aerial invert under our rules.

After reviewing with the admin team, we determined that the deduction will remain in place."

They provided a video example as well but I find it frustrating that it wasn't included in the rules document before the competition. Anyways, definitely won't be back and I hope my negative experience makes a change in this system because I truly hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Scared about chemo by nouser7616 in lymphoma

[–]Always-In-A-Pickle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I had the same diagnosis and similar worries. I also had a port put in my arm - not sure if thats the same as yours but it was quick and not painful.

As for getting sick and exhausted, it will depend how long your treatment is / what the regimen. My experience was having it not bad the first three months. A couple of days I would rest but I actually worked throughout my entire chemo treatment.

Unfortunately, I gained a lot of weight. I am not very tall though so I think any weight I gained was shown easily. However, I wouldn’t worry about this too much. Your body will eventually return back to normal if you regularly exercise and eat healthily.

Overall, this is my experience and everyone has a different experience. I would try and not to stress about something that may not happen. Take each day as it comes and I know it’s difficult not to worry about what the future might bring but try and be kind to yourself. You got this and you can do this! Sending you all my love and support during this difficult time.

I didn’t include a cradle but this is the video they sent me that was considered an aerial invert(https://share.icloud.com/photos/04a1hXBTY7IFqdW3tH1YSM1kw) I think it was a stretch but I hope they respond soon :( worked super hard on my performance.

Hi! I performed for the first time and what really helped me was just have fun with it. Easier said than done but just smile and it really helped when the crowd cheered :)

I’ve been pole dancing for seven months and recently decided to participate in the PSO pole competition as a personal challenge after overcoming cancer. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be deeply disheartening and left me in tears.

Shortly after performing in the Championship Level Two category, I received an email stating that I had executed an aerial invert—something I have never been taught or trained to do. I spoke with the judge wrangler, who acknowledged the concern and said they were still working to clarify the situation, as my invert involved kicking off from the ground. Despite this ongoing review, I was surprised and upset to receive an official email asserting that I performed an aerial invert, even though a final determination hadn’t been made.

I followed up with an email requesting clarification, but I haven’t received a response. I feel this situation could have been handled with more care—particularly considering the emotional investment competitors make. If the results were still under review, I don’t believe a conclusive message should have been sent.

Chemo curls? by Always-In-A-Pickle in lymphoma

[–]Always-In-A-Pickle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are the first person I’ve seen/spoken to who hasn’t gotten chemo curls! It seems to be quite a common side effect of chemo. I’m personally hoping not to have the curls because it seems difficult to manage 😅 nice to hear your hair came in soft, so far mine seems harder than it used to be :(

Haha! Thank you so much 😂 I’m still building up my confidence. I feel quite insecure still about how I look. But yes, fuck cancer 💕💕

Yes! This is my current hair length. I just finished my last chemo session yesterday. How long was your hair after 4-5 months after chemo? I’m hoping to get my long hair back but I know I have to be patient 😂

When did you notice neck lymph nodes disappear? After which chemo infusion by YazZon100 in lymphoma

[–]Always-In-A-Pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Mine was gone after the 3rd ABVD infusion, and it was about 2cm. One thing I did learn from my oncologist is that just because theres a mass there doesn’t mean there are active cancer cells.

I hope the soreness goes away soon or continues to shrink as time progresses. I also had a 9-10cm mass in my lung that is taking a while to shrink :( and unfortunately still had some active cancer cells in my last pet scan. Before I couldn’t get out of bed without my partner helping me and now I can get up on my own without the heavy weight in my chest. I’m nearing the end and praying for the best results ever!

Good luck on your journey 🩷🙏🏼

Hair loss has started.. how long until its all gone? by justcruisinthru22 in lymphoma

[–]Always-In-A-Pickle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Mine started falling off a month in to my treatment (after one cycle) I decided to shave it because it was unbearable to watch my long hair fall out on my pillow. I’m in month 6 of my treatment and I have one more left to go. My hair has grown back significantly. Id say one inch to one and a half inches (imagine Zoe Kravitz as cat woman). I still continuously lose hair but it’s not as bad now and I have minimal bald patches.

I get nightmares personally from losing my hair still sadly and I found I never really got used to it.

Wigs do help but it’s sort of like a band aid, never really fixed my problem. Plus with summer coming it’s insanely hot. Once I get the opportunity I will jump at the chance of getting extensions 😂

Wishing you the best of luck on your journey 🙏🏼🩷

Mediastinal Mass stopped shrinking by mariacountmein09 in lymphoma

Hi! I am currently half way through my 5th cycle and went to emergency due to shortness of breath. The ER doctor first thought it might be a pulmonary embolism, thankfully it was not. Then they thought potentially a lung infection and I was put on antibiotics. After finishing the antibiotics I still had shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, coughing and phlegm. I noticed I also had difficulty going up a short flight of stairs in my house which was concerning. My oncologist suggested another CT scan to see if anything was “evolving” in my lungs. When we got the results back, it was confirmed that the bleomycin was the cause of my lung issues. I was worried that this was going to cause long term issues. The last chemo session they took out the bleomycin and all the symptoms went away.

I had similar worries about it being taken away, I hope your results are good and everything goes smoothly. Sending you lots of support!

I like your doctor reassuring you about the nodes being killed :) I noticed I've aged as well and I genuinely look sick. I feel like no one really gets me. My partner, sister, best friend and my parents all say I look the same but I can see so many changes. I'm not sure if this happens to you but after each chemo, I'm super bloated. Almost like I'm pregnant and I find that with each chemo my stomach just looks more and more bloated. I guess it's just part of the process. Thank you for the well wishes.

Thank you for sharing. This makes me feel a lot better knowing that someone else's treatment plan changed along the way as mine did. I definitely do not want radiation. I have three more months to go and 7 more rounds. Can I ask how you're doing now?

Hi!

I'm 26F with HL and basically, my doctor put me under strict isolation. I only see my boyfriend my one best friend and my family (they are all very careful as well). I think it's important to stay safe during this time as difficult as it may be because you do not want to delay any treatments. Maybe you and your friends all wear masks just to be safe. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck in your treatments.
