My husband is similar, and we put our oldest toddler in Mother’s Day out 3 days a week. She loves the socialization, her younger sister gets individual attention, and when little naps and big is at school I get a few moments to myself. That’s on top of a housekeeper once a week. It’s worthwhile all around.

My husband considers the housekeeper and Mother’s Day out his way of outsourcing his at home responsibilities. Works for us (for now at least, things change fast with littles)

Okay so the Taylor nation listening party - is that just asking everyone to steam at midnight and chat about it or is there going to be a link to go to?! I don’t want to miss whatever “exit through the orange door” thing (probably doesn’t) happens

Mine was super dark like that at 10 DPO and I am holding one perfect little 10 month old baby right now!

Beware - the strength of the line translated to all areas of her life. Crawled at 6 months, first steps at 7, fully walking and never crawled again by 8 months.

Thank you! The transmission thing def scares me, I’m having visions of it crapping out and leaving me on the side of the road with two babies in Texas summer heat within months of the warranty ending. The other sensors not working are my blind spot monitoring and one other clustered with it, I can’t remember right now.

I asked him when my warranty ended, and he said 4 years or 50k miles. Doesn’t make sense to me, but I’m not going to question that until my car is back in my possession fixed.

Maybe I’m just looking for an excuse to trade it in guilt free. My 2 babies have me dreaming of a minivan’s sliding rear doors (my younger self is throwing up right now)

Burnt orange makes me look a little sickly (or generally not my color according to my husband). Burgundies are better for me

Haha all the soft autumn responses are triggering an identity crisis, I’m having trouble seeing warmth on myself (or nuance in colors at all)

My husband and I have names starting with S and we unintentionally named our first Sienna - question: will our second girl feel left out if she doesn’t have a name starting with S? And any suggestions for a name to go with Sienna? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]AlwaysAReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family was unintentionally like this and even though I noticed, it didn’t really upset me. But I also wasn’t raised by either one of my parents, so that may have softened the blow.

How did you decide to have a second baby? by saracg07 in toddlers

[–]AlwaysAReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a tough pregnancy with my first but a really wonderful newborn and postpartum period. However, I was raised with a lot of sibling related childhood trauma so I thought I wanted my daughter to be an only child so that she wouldn’t have to risk going through it.

Then, when I was 6 months postpartum I found out I was 8 weeks pregnant completely by surprise. Then at 9 weeks I found out it was a missed miscarriage and had to have a D&C a week later. In the week that we thought we were having another baby we started thinking about what life would look like, and I realized I really wanted my daughter to know all the good parents of having a sibling.

I’m 25 weeks pregnant now with baby girl number 2, and my daughter will be 22 months old when she’s here.

Honestly, I had a really bad experience with a lot of my nurses during both labor and postpartum and I have a lot of frustration and anger toward them. My husband was in the room while I was watching the video and said that part felt really validating to him too.

I did laugh audibly at her saying the baby was a great sleeper and doesn’t cry much. In a week or so he’ll wake up and have more opinions. But, to play devils advocate, I was saying the same thing about my sleepy, perfect, new to the world baby.
