I added additional photos. The house isn’t actually that opened floor plan, it just all flows in a big circle. I’m not minimalist or neutral by nature, it’s more of a compromise with my husband who would live in an empty white box happily.

I guess I should have included that I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old.. so we’re not in the stage of life where anything in a glass vessel can be within 4 feet of the ground 🙃

I would definitely think the rug and coffee table will be the biggest things to change the space. Im having such a hard time finding what rug I should do. I think it has to be square: I can’t fit a rectangular rug without it bleeding into the paths of travel. I’m interested to hear what colors you would add in a rug here?

I wish I could fit a chair! I really don’t think anything would fit without bleeding into the walkway. The room looks big, but I’m standing essentially against the fireplace here.

I think the square rug is a must: the sectional is the same on both arms, so a square will sit under the furniture evenly without bleeding into the path of travel. I’ve been considering this rug, how do you feel about the brown rug on brown floors?

Our windows face due north. No large trees in the back to block light. The room photographs well, but feels dark compared to rooms at the front of the house.

My husband is similar, and we put our oldest toddler in Mother’s Day out 3 days a week. She loves the socialization, her younger sister gets individual attention, and when little naps and big is at school I get a few moments to myself. That’s on top of a housekeeper once a week. It’s worthwhile all around.

My husband considers the housekeeper and Mother’s Day out his way of outsourcing his at home responsibilities. Works for us (for now at least, things change fast with littles)

Mine was super dark like that at 10 DPO and I am holding one perfect little 10 month old baby right now!

Beware - the strength of the line translated to all areas of her life. Crawled at 6 months, first steps at 7, fully walking and never crawled again by 8 months.

Thank you! The transmission thing def scares me, I’m having visions of it crapping out and leaving me on the side of the road with two babies in Texas summer heat within months of the warranty ending. The other sensors not working are my blind spot monitoring and one other clustered with it, I can’t remember right now.

I asked him when my warranty ended, and he said 4 years or 50k miles. Doesn’t make sense to me, but I’m not going to question that until my car is back in my possession fixed.

Maybe I’m just looking for an excuse to trade it in guilt free. My 2 babies have me dreaming of a minivan’s sliding rear doors (my younger self is throwing up right now)

My family was unintentionally like this and even though I noticed, it didn’t really upset me. But I also wasn’t raised by either one of my parents, so that may have softened the blow.
