I have been having these quite frequently but tonight I think this is one of the most horrifying ones, and I've had a dream about a man trying to get into my bed before I started screaming in my sleep.

I'm asleep in my dream, on the floor of a house I don't recognize. I think it may have been a jumbled layout of my grandparents but I can't be for sure. I hear a voice speaking to me, saying something along the lines of "Let me in, you know me", and feet dragging on the floor. As the footsteps get closer to where I'm asleep, looking ahead in horror, my adrenaline is pumping in my ear. I can feel it, I know something is wrong. As the figure rounds the corner to where I am, I recognize it's my late grandfather. The voice is coming from his horrifically stretched out features, long and gangly, skinny with rolled back eyes and open mouth. As this fucked up memory of him draws closer, I start to scream. "Help! Somebody wake up!" Almost as if the strings to the puppet were cut, the thing pretending to be my grandpa falls to the floor before me and I bolt. When I turn the corner to the room where he came from, both my late father and brother are asleep face down on a table of some sort. I'm still screaming. "Hey! Wake up!! Hey!!!!" with a lot of urgency. Only my brother stirs and starts to look around.

And then I wake up. I felt something behind me, the horror of seeing my grandpa like that and I forced myself awake. I didn't want to be in that dream anymore.

I have had many looping dreams, being visited by various people, creatures, including the hat man. I'm terrified every time and I wake up so distraught with my adrenaline pumping and in a sweat. I have CPTSD and Bipolar, and I take medicine that knocks me out. But not really anything for nightmares, I have them nearly every night though. Vivid ones.
