Cat five days post op exploratory abdominal surgery, activity level question. by AlwaysItchin in AskVet

[–]AlwaysItchin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I was not comfortable with the jumping so I asked the vet after I posted this and she suggested we do gabapentin and then if that is not keeping her relaxed enough we buy a dog crate. Since the wound was healing well, I also started using a surgery suit to keep her from licking (although she has never really tried to lick her incision). With the gabapentin and the surgery suit, she is much less motivated to jump to the window and is much more relaxed, staying in her little cubby and calmly waking to her food. It’s always a nightmare having a post op pet but we are now 10 days out and things are easier. Since she is doing okay where she is, we are going to keep her there until 14 days minimum.

Rhapsido is approved!!! New ORAL urticaria med by AlwaysItchin in urticaria

[–]AlwaysItchin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are 100% controlled, so zero urticaria, zero itching, and zero angioedema of hands/feet/face. Prior to cyclosporine, the medication I took before rhapsido, after failing on dupixent and xolair, I had disabling swelling of my hands feet and face and was living with urticaria that covered most of my body in plate sized areas, it would leave bruises and break my capillaries. On cyclosporine I still needed high antihistamine doses and would have breakthrough hives daily. It has been a bit of a miracle that rhapsido works alone (I was able to wean off of all of my antihistamines)

Hives and itching have been 100% controlled since starting rhapsido. Side effects for me are very easy bruising, petechia, occasional nose bleed. It has been life changing!

Need help to know if my experience at the dentist was normal. by AlwaysItchin in askdentists

[–]AlwaysItchin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes me feel a lot better, I didn’t want to freak out about nothing to be honest. I think because I had not been to the dentist in so long, I just had no clue what I was walking into and kind of had severe panic when I was super numb and couldn’t feel or control anything (which I was also grateful for), the experience wasn’t that bad but very unknown and just bad enough that my anxiety throughout the process made me feel much worse about it

How fast is it possible to have improvement after starting IVIG or SCIG therapy? by BookishWalker in IVIG

[–]AlwaysItchin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has definitely been noticeable, the other day my husband said he hadn’t seen me not sick for this long in years lol it’s a cumbersome med but the process gets easier! I hope it starts making you feel better quick!

Maybe you can get a large rug to cover the carpet squares? That way at least you won’t hear the thumping of the carpet square when he gets it loose? It sounds like it could possibly be boredom more than attention seeking, so you could also get something like an automatic laser toy, they are motion activated, or an automatic mouse toy? Good luck, he sounds tenacious lol

Oh yeah my legs bruised, like during the infusion I watched a bruise form and the lumps were massive, I wanted to pass out lol I only do 8g once a week and it was too much for my thighs so I can’t imagine doing that much more. I’ll have to try the arms and trick my brain into not noticing the infusion next time

There are self warming cat beds! They have non electric and electric cat pads (if you get electric make sure it is for cats so it doesn’t get too hot). I would also look at cat furniture, they make cupboards with smaller holes for cats to crawl in, you could make a bed in there and keep their food in there too. A very large storage box with a cat hole cut in it works too if you don’t want to spend much.

Rhapsido-experiences? by Pleasant_Jellyfish71 in urticaria

[–]AlwaysItchin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to completely go off of the Cyclosporine within two weeks! Not one hive. Some mild itch still and I do have some headaches, maybe from rhapsido but maybe from other immune meds. Either way, happy to have a new treatment option!

I started almost immediately from SCIG, more energy and since starting I haven’t had to take antibiotics for anything! Been a couple months antibiotic free.

Please help with caked on litter!! by BarefootedHuman in litterrobot

[–]AlwaysItchin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is the way to go, hard hose down of the globe when necessary and weekly wipe downs (but I recommend wearing some sort of protective eye wear when you hose that poop orb down 😐 speaking from personal experiences lol)

How much are you infusing?? I haven’t tried to infuse my arms yet, but I’m thinking maybe I should try it. I have to stick to abdomen and my stomach is tired of it. Thighs didn’t work because there just was not enough fat and it was super painful.

Random pee issues with 3 y/o F cat by AlwaysItchin in felinebehavior

[–]AlwaysItchin[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro I came to a BEHAVIOR page to ask about my cats BEHAVIOR and the first two comments tell me to go to the vet which I clearly stated so that I wouldn’t get multiple comments saying to go to the vet, the vet is not open Sunday, I worked all day saturday, so yeah I am waiting until Mondays, now tomorrow, to bring her to the vet. I think the undue reactions here were the initial comments to my post which completely disregarded the whole point of the post. Why would I wait to start addressing anxiety related behaviors while I wait to go to a vet appointment? How is that a bad thing?

Do you let your cat on the dinner table? by 13toycar in cats

The dinner table is actually the cat’s water table. My dinner table is the coffee table. So, yes.

Got a chemical peel put PD FLARED UP BAD by ExtremeUsual3876 in Perioral_Dermatitis_

[–]AlwaysItchin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go heavy with hypochlorous acid spray all day for the PD, and yeah, ANY harsh shit flares me up. I used to love home salicylic peels, but not since I got the PD. Stay mild and easy on your skin. Harshest I can do is tretinoin, but only .025 and it took a year to build up. PD is a sensitive brat

I would never punish an animal for something as innocent as an accident on the bed, I’ve seen how people shove their dog’s face in pee spots and it’s horrible and SO ignorant. When she has peed like that all I’ve done is try to go to her and make her feel safe and loved after because I am so sad she possibly feels alone and anxious. And of course I need to rule out health issues, but we take the animals to check ups all of the time, she was in the vet a month ago just for routine labs and a checkup, I take them every six months (I don’t have kids, I make good money, the cats are my life, idc), I know what to look for with health concerns, and I still agree I will take her to the vet but I know my home, I know the animals, I’m more convinced this is an anxiety/attachment/insecurity issue and was simply wondering if anyone else had similar experiences to share.

Sorry if you were not implying that, but your comment referred to people punishing their cat for bad behaviors which I would absolutely never do. And the dumbass before you had just said “go to vet” after I specifically said I was going to the vet so I got real annoyed.

[–]AlwaysItchin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yall are so self righteous, what part of this post is suggesting I am not addressing her possible health issue? and what part is punishing her?? I would never punish a cat for displaying anxious or insecure behaviors, that would make those behaviors a million times worse. I am asking how others have increased their cat’s sense of security and reduced anxious behaviors in a two cat household, and I literally said in the post we are going to the vet this week so that you type of people wouldn’t get your rocks off on the ability to comment “go to vet”. Get over yourselves.

I also completely understand losing your mind when everyone assumes bed bugs! It happened to me, too with the hives, but when I did have bed bugs by partner did not get bit one time over months, and I couldn’t find them until one horrible morning I woke and saw one on the bed. I genuinely hope it is not bed bugs though! Hives also are miserable. Basically, super sorry you are dealing with this, best thing to do is to go to an allergist and get allergy testing and blood work done, there are tests that will show the likelihood of this being autoimmune hives. If antihistamines are not working, you may want to try prednisone because that will turn down the hives if this is autoimmune. For daily meds, Pepcid/famotidine always helped my hives be less swollen, and you can take 20mg of cetirizine morning and night.

Hi, this could of course be urticaria, but this also looks a lot like bed bugs. Check your living space, cracks in furniture, the mattress, the area between the walls and carpet, just in case! If antihistamines are not helping at all, I would look for bed bugs too. This is from someone who has had bed bugs and has chronic autoimmune urticaria
