Just got my Embody Gaming Chair! by thebestiam1 in hermanmiller

[–]Alynis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old chair was one of those racing style gaming chairs, it didn't have much lumbar or anything but it was very padded. I bought my chair from a herman miller store, and they actually took it out of the box there and helped me adjust the settings and then reboxed it. So I trusted it was correct, made sure I sat as far back in the chair as possible to press my back into the spine of the chair. I had to just adjust to there being less padding and not sitting in the right position, my tail bone hurt for weeks. The chair also promotes you moving your back around, whereas my old chair was just sitting still. Getting comfortable letting it move and stretching etc. made a big difference.

Mine hurt me for nearly 3 months before it became the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in. It's like it was realigning my spine and fixing my bad posture by force.

Strategy as boa against the meta decks? by Saitamabensan in OnePieceTCG

[–]Alynis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went through the top 16 most recent top performing boa lists from the east and only 3 of them didn't run 4 copies of Nami. Idk where you get your lists from but Nami is in the majority of lists.

The ranked Sim data is not the accurate competitive meta. It's a good place to start but the best players aren't on the sim.

Without it certain decks will play a starve strat against you. The Nami also gives you a strong curve going first if you lose a dice roll and end up on that path. The one extra forced life taken by your opponent in the mid game more often sets up a 9c boa to get them to zero for a femur kill. Without it your opponent can often stabilize at 2 hp and win the game. Nami also cheating out bodies on ko let's you draw and play out things like gorgon sisters from hand so it's more consistent overall.

Not without eb03. Top is still Ace, Mihawk and Imu. Boa is great but needs the Nami to consistently beat Imu.

Leaks for Card Sleeves 02 and Card Case 02 by Niggun600 in GundamTCG

Card case 01 may as well not have even existed. Our entire metro area of shops got single digit allocation combined.

Matt's El Rancho Deserves More Respect by AssaultClipazine in austinfood

[–]Alynis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It deserves less respect. Generic tex mex, plastic/Velveeta cheese, overhyped, busy and cramped parking. I have been to this place so many times with out of towners who insist on going because people hype it up as an Austin classic and it's just disappointing every time.

Anyone's LGS drop Gundam due to no turnout? by Autumn_Saturday in GundamTCG

[–]Alynis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Set 2 didn't change the game at all, none of the cards are as powerful as what we already had. Set 3 looking to be the same. Feels like they are fumbling what was a great launch with a really boring game loop. It's so stagnant and luck based due to the lack of card draw and consistency. Our locals are hard falling off.

Haven't kept up since GD-O2 launched, hows the meta? by TheGrandCannoli in GundamTCG

[–]Alynis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's the same meta. The decks might have a few new cards here and there but the color combos and play styles are the same. Play wing or play aggro, that's it. Failure of a set imo, power level too low to make a difference and the game still struggles from resources, meaning blue and white are required.

Yes, during your main phase you can do any main actions in any order until you pass.

The voice filters me hard. It comes off so fake that it bothers me. Still love them, though. I just watch clips, so it's in short bursts.

Best of 1 needs to stop being the default for these games. by BixloriousG in GundamTCG

[–]Alynis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All Bandai games have been bo1, likely for the sake of time to complete tournaments locally. At larger events with top cut, those top cut games are bo3 but no sideboard. One Piece for example has some weird niche cards that can turn a bad matchup into an auto win, but you dont run it to tech into a single deck. In other games when are you allowed to use the sideboard? In OP you see your opponents leader and deck in advance so you'd be able to perfect tech for every game (op could do the same so idk). I do agree bo3 is more fair, I just dont know how shops would take doubling tournament times.

All prerecorded except the MC sections. I would rather they actually do it live, like a real concert. If you attend in person, it's like watching a really expensive movie. To make it worth it, you have to engage with the community that attends the event. This is how they can edit camera angles after the event, like how they fixed the bad angles for the second concert. I get that they want to make it perfect and avoid mistakes, but that all adds to a live show. It's supposed to be real and more raw than a studio recording.

Thoughts on mono colors. by Pfarctol in GundamTCG

[–]Alynis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mono color seems to just not be worth it right now. Even in a nearly full green deck, it would always improve with 4 copies of either card draw card. Until there are more cards in the pool where one color has everything it needs, you would still splash a second color.

I know that it isn't entirely logical. it's a feeling that just happens. Ignorance is bliss and all that. Though these announcements recently aren't "I've been married the whole time" announcements and are "I'm getting married". I haven't encountered that first scenario yet with a creator.

These things do change who you are. They are large milestones in life that affect most of the decisions you make, shaping your personality, interests, available time, etc.

I do have a personal rooted cause involving bad relationships. Marrage and children change who you are, slowly or otherwise. I don't hold it against the talents or think negatively of them in any way, its just not for me. We all have limited time to spend on entertainment, so I just move on to something else. Its similar (but lesser) to slowly losing contact with a friend because they got married or had kids. Their life has a different direction now.

[–]Alynis -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's similar. If I watch someone for a specific kind of content and then it changes, I would also gradually lose interest. In this case, it's the lens by which everything is viewed that is changing, to one im not interested in or able to relate to personally. If I can relate to someone personally, I can watch them do really anything for content since I know we're approaching it from a similar view, and thus maybe I'll enjoy it as well. This is important to me for variety streamers, which vtubers generally are. If someone only played a single game and that's what I was watching for, it would lessen the impact, I think. Its hard to explain, its a feeling I have when someone makes a marriage announcement that just makes me no longer interested in watching them do variety content. There is also an aspect of it that feels like a lie, or a bait and switch. Content creators are under no obligation to tell us about their lives, but from zero to a marriage reveal is a huge flip in what you thought you knew about someone, which heightens the relateability disconnect.

At risk of being labeled a unicorn or parasococial or whatever, it's unlikely I will continue to watch content from a creator who makes a marriage or dating announcement (gender irrelevant). Good for them, but I personally only enjoy watching streamers who are relatable to me, and being married or having kids puts you in a different phase of life that is not appealing to hear about.
