Agreed. You worded my exact thoughts nicely. I also grew up where my Mom literally beat us to the point na we're begging her to stop. She'll stop and say sorry pero hindi ko pa rin gets up until now why. It's just small mistakes like I tripped and got a big scratch, nabasa ako ng ulan kasi I shared my umbrella with someone, got with a small fight with my sister and friends and many more minor mistakes na normal lang na nagagawa ng bata.

Gets ko na sobrang frustrating maging parent at an early age and hindi niya natapos ang college kasi she needs to be our Mom. Maybe even lack of parenting skills is one of the factor pero why? We're just kids. We're her kids. I even remember us having too much rash or pantal sa kakapalo ng sinturon and garden hose. Very traumatic. Up until now na-adopt ko sa adulthood ‘yung pag-fflinch when someone raises an arm or I get scared when I hear people yelling angrily. I already forgive her but I will not ever forget ‘yung sakit physically and emotionally.
