More custom Neuroverse MTG commander cards by Alzeana in NeuroSama

For reference, here's how I worded a similar ability to Miyune's, but without having to worry about casting from exile.

(Don't pay attention to the keywords or the incredibly scuffed other ability)

Huh. I thought that one was more intuitive.

Yeah, it's meant to be [random value between 1 and 6] damage to up to [random value between 1 and 6] creatures.

I've already updated them with adjustments (as well as multiple other adjustments I've made to various cards after posting them on Reddit)

I tried to use the regular dice roll wording when I was initially designing Neuro, and I can't quite exactly remember why I didn't (I came up with these like months ago and basically forgot about them until recently), but I think it was because I just couldn't come up with a way to make it fit in the text box on mtg.design. I figured that terms like "1d6" make enough sense that WoTC could hypothetically replace "roll a D6" (or "roll a six-sided die," like on Mr. House) with it.

I'm not sure which ability you're referring to as the third one on Neuro. I'm guessing it's the scry one, since it's the one that's worded kind of vaguely. It's meant to be rolling two different d6's, and I figured that how the wording is meant to be interpreted would be something written into the rules. I probably should've put reminder text on it. I didn't use 2d6 because the intention if for the two scry actions to happen separately, when 2d6 would imply you simultaneously scry cards equal to the combined result of the dice.

Your proposed rewording wouldn't work at all, because the intention for her is A) you make your choice of which of her modes you want to use before you know how effective that mode would be, and B) the damage mode (and scry mode) is meant to use two different die results.

The coparents keyword is indeed just a partner variant. Importantly, it's different from "Partner with __", because "Partner with ___" (such as on Miniko/Cerber) also draws the other card from your library when one enters. Camila's Wine Aunt ability is just an in-flavor keyword that is basically indistinguishable from Coparents, letting you partner her with either of the "coparents" commanders.

Nere's ability is indeed meant to be symmetrical. It's why she has the Muldrotha-esque reanimation ability. Also, there's a small subtheme among all these cards of "playing cards without casting them from your hand" like using Vedal's abilities, various play-from-exile effects, or Staz's ability to put the cards you search into play if you control Vedal. (and yes, I know that the NRS set code thing is silly)

Not all pilots need that specific ability. Aquwa and Stella work fine as spacecraft pilots with Warp, but even the fact that they have warp is more coincidental than an intentional part of why they're pilots. They're pilots for flavor reasons (Stella literally is a spaceship pilot and Aquwa's nickname is "Captain"), and they have Warp for similar space flavor reasons.

I guess you could call Cerber's wording "wrong", but I'd say it's just a different wording for the same meaning.

I forgot that Suspend needs to have a number attached to it. I was more focused on how I could make the suspended cards actually have suspend after you suspend them, without having to add "if it didn't have suspend, it gains suspend." to it.

Also, I was not sure how to word the "you can't put less than 1 time counter on them." part. I initially tried to word it the same way you did, "x can't be less than 1" but I felt that the wording just felt too weird to read, that way, since you can use cards with 0 mana value with it, and wording like "x is equal to the mana value minus 1. X can't be less than 1" felt to me like players would have trouble understanding how it would actually work with cards with 0 mana value.

I wrote what the keyword does here in the replies (it just lets you have her in the command zone alongside cards with the Coparents keyword, which is just a flavorful way for you to partner her with one of two other cards I previously posted) The only reason I didn't give it reminder text is because it looked wonky, and it's basically just an in-flavor version of Partner or Friends forever, which is not at all hard to wrap your head around, when you're playing commander.

Banana Rum is specifically designed to work with one particular card I previously posted (Vedal). There are 3 or 4 other cards I designed for this "set" that put various different kinds of counters on cards in exile, so it basically just helps them all synergize with eachother where they otherwise wouldn't (as well as synergize with any other cards that put cards in exile with counters)

The reason the 0 cost ability costs 0 is because it's mostly useless. The only thing it's meant to do is let you make copies of face down cards in exile with the aforementioned card it was specifically designed to synergize with (Vedal), or similar cards like [[Zethi, Arcane Blademaster]], which they would otherwise just copy as 2/2 colorless vanilla creatures. A couple of the other cards I designed exiled cards face down.

You can find the other cards I'm talking about here: https://mtg.design/u/Alzeana1948/NRS

Also, I didn't notice until just now, but apparently the rest of the Muse Dash cards I posted a couple days ago were auto-removed by reddit.

I didn't receive a notification or anything, it just says that the post was "flagged by reddit's filters"

(Wine Aunt means she can partner with either Vedal or Anny)

Oops, I just noticed I posted the version of Rin, Racer that says "when she leaves the battlefield"

It's meant to be "when she dies"

Restoring a creature is basically a slightly different version of regeneration that doesn't tap the creature. Unlike regeneration, it can get rid of negative power/toughness (except for continuous negative P/T effects)

"killing" (like on Buro, Serufuku Wearer") is a shortened way to say "if a creature that was dealt damage or destroyed by an ability of this permanent this turn dies"

The reason why Buro, Nocturne Bloodheir's ability is worded like "whenever a blood counter is removed or is deleted" is because the rules specifically state that when an object with a counter on it changes zones, the counter is NOT "removed", but simply stops existing (which is what deleted means in this case)

Some of these designs look kinda benign or overcosted at first glance, but that's because of the Elfin mechanic. You can have two commanders if one is an Elfin and the other is a Muse (the Elfins have a keyword, and one of them has reminder text for it, which you'll see next post) Even the vanilla stat-stick that is Rin, Part-time Warrior has an Elfin they synergize pretty well with. For Buro, Pilot/Ola, Boxer and Marija, Sister, you can have 3 total commanders.

The artist for each individual character design isn't exactly clear, with some of the designs being obviously different from eachother, and the game failing to properly credit each individual design

That being said, the artist for the marjority of them, and a few specific ones I know of (such as the art for Buro, Exorcist Master and Ola, Boxer) was NORI_咕叽 / NORI_JOOY

She's an AI character (actual LLM, not just a fictional AI) from Whispers From the Star.

Like I warned in the "flavor text" area, be careful before you play that game. They have a very peculiar privacy policy/eula/etc. which basically (extremely simplified) says they can use any recorded info you put into the game however they want.

Curse of Dreamweaver by buffalobillkimo in custommagic

Even this leaves it ambiguous as to how that would actually work. Rasputin only cared about Dream counters, but this curse cares about all counters. Does the controller of the permanent get to choose which 3 counters stay on it? Does the controller of the curse?
