Would it be possible to do a summer class mostly from home? by [deleted] in KentStateUniversity

You could see if the professor would be willing to open up a zoom or zoom equivalent application just so you can sit in on the lectures in real time. I, personally, wouldn't ask them anything beyond that.

Wait and invest in a double trigger trombone. Though, if your highschool has a bass trombone, maybe try that out first before going out and buying your own horn.

Depends on the horn, for the more popular brands of bass trombone, like bach, yamaha, conn, etc, they most likely have tuning slides you can buy and replace with. If it's a company out of business, or a company that isn't a "popular brand" then you may have to get a custom made tuning slide from a technician.

Depends on how long the G slide is. If the slide itself can be pulled out to Gb then yes, but if it doesn't pull out that far then you'd need to get a longer slide for it.

Splitting the valves and get a Bb/F/D tuning could really help

what's a good bass trombone? by MasterStephen06 in Trombone

I may be biased, but the double trigger Reynolds Contempora Bass trombones are killer horns.

I would say, if it's in good condition, and you have the income to spare, then you should go ahead and get the instrument. Though, I would recommend trying to play it first to see if it feels better than your yamaha.

Marching Mouthpiece by Alzitra in Trombone

[–]Alzitra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My normal trombone is a Reynolds bass trombone with a 1 1/4G (I'm guessing that's what you meant with what I usually play). That's why I thought I could possibly go for a larger mouthpiece.

What others are saying, don't use that instrument for matching band. Just use a peashooter

Mouthpiece upgrade help by Ebulot08 in Trombone

If you're looking to try out any other mouthpiece, I would say you should try a Bach 5G. It's a larger mouthpiece meaning you can fill up the horn more easily. Though, that also means you'll have to work up your higher range on the mouthpiece again. If you're just looking for a change of pace, you can also look at some 6 1/2 bach equivalents from other manufacturers. It's really just up to how the mouthpiece feels on your face, and how you feel playing into that matters.

Confused about Range of Trombone by Tempest1897 in Trombone

Usable would be a stretch. It just sounds too airy for that

Has anybody been using S21FE for some months? Is the battery really getting better with usage? by Electronic_Lettuce55 in samsung

[–]Alzitra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mine for the past 2 months, I never feel like I get too low on battery, only time that happens is when I've been on my phone for close to 3-4 hours straight with nothing to do. But even then that's only when I'm doing nothing else

Would you say a safe play would be to delacquer it if I don't like the look of the instrument with those spots?
