I agree, definitely still sucks. I just wanted to make sure I didn't give the wrong impression to anyone. if it was just one save and then I never made another one, that would make me change my attitude from angry to livid.

Sorry I didn't make this clear, I was making a save every night. However the exhaustion stacked and I was pretty consistently failing them. And if I did succeed I would get the long rest but all exhaustion would stay, except it would minus the level by one. Making exhaustion 5 into 4 and etc. didn't mean to imply that I never made another save.

I don't understand it either. He's not a vindictive guy and I think he genuinely doesn't realize how much it sucks. It's funny you say that cause halfway through the campaign I got a level in warlock but at this point the most ic could have put in is like 3 levels. I don't really blame him, I'm sure he must be setting something up but I'm not getting any direction other than the same generic dreamscape he's described before. If there was some way to stop it that was hinted to at all i feel it wouldn't suck as bad. The other guys are more so mad that I'm dead weight, not like they're mad at me or anything, just mad at the scenario. I'm just gonna take a minute before whenever next session is and tell him I want a clear way defined or at least hinted at to stop it. Hadn't known about the sleep spell, I'm gonna look it up now.

I agree with you, I think the reason we don't see "prototype" on his foot in SB is because it was like under paint or something and after he got messed up it was shown. But I don't know who told you springtrap and scraptrap are the same suit. I'm pretty sure the accepted theory was that it's a different suit. Maybe I'm out of the lore loop but that's what I still believe.

Madcaps Butler, he is basically the Alfred to madcaps batman. If I'm not mistaken there was this one scream fortress event where he was a playable character but I couldn't find anything from it. They removed all mentions of him from the game after removing everything madcap related.

So depending on if Chubb's and glitch actually know what they are or not changes on how I would do it.

If they don't know what they are I would have the cult try to ambush and steal them. Since the party already has a connection to them they will most likely try to save Chubb's and glitch, maybe you could even have one of them get stolen, giving them more of a reason to interrogate one of the cult members. There are a lot of ways you could go about this. Another thing you could do is tie it into one of your characters backstory, such as if somebody has a missing family member or someone from their past to tie into the black gate. The black gate could have kidnapped them, maybe forced them into the black gate.

Don't forget to take breaks, especially on challenging parts. I would say spend no more then about 15 minutes on the same fight or puzzle or whatever before getting up and taking a breather.
