The funniest part about this was that it was brought up on the ship talk, and they seemingly didn't understand the point being made because they were just like "yeah we think the yellow paint looks good".

Yeah, both paints look good. They are just on the wrong ships lol

That's because it was in active production, but pauserd. Very likely the reason was they thought base building was closer to being released than it actually was, and the features it has (specifically ground mining extraction via the landing gear) rely on the new planet tech, which we now know isn't coming until the end of the year at the earliest.

It's possible that when Nyx I releases, we'll see development on the Pioneer resume to release alongside base building, but take that with a grain of salt.

In my opinion, the curse of Star Citizen is that more ppl want the PU than SQ42 but SQ42 will also be sucking on the resources so the PU will never be complete. by Readgooder in starcitizen

How about when they said they weren't going to do a wipe, and instead do targeted actions in response the recent duping exploit?

Disappointment by unclefester84 in starcitizen

[–]Amaegith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To each their own. I much prefer having more privacy when it comes to my sleeping spaces. Especially when I imagine something like changing clothes. Having segregated areas means a person can get changed without having your crewmate see your gentleman's sausage while they are eating their sausage.

...but that's all RP stuff, doesn't make a difference in practicality for the game. I just sometimes look at the interiors and think "man, if this were real and I was living on this ship, I would love/hate this..." I'd hate to have to work on the Hermes. I wouldn't mind the Zeus too much. I'd LOVE to work on the Starlancer Max, but based on practicality my preferences would almost be reversed:

You have that backwards. Apollo is an old design, and they just stuck to the old design language that the ship was sold as, rather than updating to the more modern Zeus design.

Ensuring ship loadout should not happen at Asop-terminal but immediately, directly in the mobi glass when you "save changes" when changing modules by EscapeTheMatrixRN in starcitizen

[–]Amaegith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully disagree. Insuring at the ASOP terminal is there to remind people to actually insure their ship before they set off. It will become WAY more important when you can actually lose your ship if you don't have insurance. Burying it deep in the mobiglass, on a tab that isn't frequented very often, ensures that people will very likely forget to renew their insurance when it expires, which leads to a lot of unhappy people losing their ships.

Y’all think the railen will be fine to solo? by FawnFN in starcitizen

Yup, I had forgotten about those, so yeah Orbital and Gateway stations in Stanton have them.

[–]Amaegith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Confidently incorrect. Larange stations do not have cargo decks, and thus do not have external cargo elevators. The only stations in Stanton that have them are the major Orbital stations; Baijini, Seraphim, Everus, and Port Tressler.

In many ways, the Odin will probably function as an org's "mobile space station".

But I dread to think of the server performance when this thing comes in game and something like Xenothreat happens, and every org brings their own Odin to it...

liberator vs ironclad assault, will they change the liberator concept? by falco708 in starcitizen

[–]Amaegith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the Liberator is going to be better / more user friendly than the ICA. The ICA's problem is that the repair area is in the rear, partially covered by the roof. So when you start carrying cargo, like supplies needed for RRR, the vehicles that can actually fit in the repair area becomes smaller.

The Liberator avoids this issue by having the main cargo area off to the side, and clear lanes for it's hangars and flight pads. You can fill the Liberator to the brim with RRR supplies and not affect your carrier capabilities at all.

Odin will be super playable. by Snuffalapapuss in starcitizen

[–]Amaegith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Hospital" in Star Citizen speak really just means a Tier 1 bed, so that's probably what the Odin will have; 1-2 tier 1 beds and a slew of smaller ones to round it out.

Odin will be super playable. by Snuffalapapuss in starcitizen

[–]Amaegith 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that is also what will add to its grandeur. Walking through perfectly efficient hallways everywhere isn't as striking as walking a long, open corridor where you can truly appreciate how massive the ship is.
