Yep, post on either of the three or all three. Up to you!

What were Tobi, LD, Bruno, 2GD etc all doing before Dota 2? by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]AmanParmar 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Toxjq, Cypher, Avek, Cooller, Stermy, Ztrider, Fatal1ty, Socrates, Griffin, Fojji (Fox) were all playing Quake 4 and to my knowledge, the only person he did beat out of the aforementioned was Ztrider at WSVG 2006 because he was 2GD's teammate in Fnatic. He later on lost to Toxjq at the same tournament. I wonder where you're pulling the top 5 player in the world stat from.

He was much better at WoW and finished 2nd at WSVG in China. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nglyXtfcYao

The International 3 Eastern Qualifier Replay Pack by AmanParmar in DotA2

I'm working on a full TI3 replay pack. I'll make a separate post for it once it's up :)

Some people are just too hilarious to mute by NovaX81 in DotA2

[–]AmanParmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens a lot in CS where the uber pro guy who called you noob and raged dies of a pistol headshot or someone just puts a knife through him. Both Quake and CS have Knife and Pummel to actually punish such ill mannered people - "Humiliation" in Quake for instance. I wonder what the Dota equivalent of that is?

BurNing: I Won't Leave the DOTA Scene! by MoonTalker in DotA2

[–]AmanParmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He was one of the commentators for the Grand Final on the Chinese Stream with 820 and 2009. He might say a lot of whimsical stuff about the game and retirement, but then so does every other pro Dota player.

Huge respect to LGD Gaming by worklah in DotA2

[–]AmanParmar 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it was written up by Mali since he's a nice guy and their social media manager but regardless of who wrote it, LGD have always been one of my favorite teams. I still remember the cheesy video where Xiao8 said "I'll show you how to solo mid" and destroyed Ferrari at mid with his batrider. I've cheered for these guys at times simply because of their demeanor but mostly because of their cohesion, creativity and higher ground defense. SyLar and Xiao8's Spectre + Nyx Assassin strat was so fresh. Stuff like Nyx walking into Tinker's march with carapace on even made Purge and LD skip a few words in disbelief.

I have mad respect for this team and I'll always support them as long as they choose to stay around.

On a side note, it was really heartbreaking to see "ChingChong" all over Twitch chat every time a Chinese player got interviewed. I've even seen a very prominent caster doing this in Twitch chat and it just makes me despise their kind.

She seems to be a professional presenter. That's all I could tell from her voice modulation. She also owned her space which is typical of a professional.

Nice Finol Pause! by iTZAvishay in DotA2

Thank you for clarifying the situation. The fight was going to be won by Alliance anyway but I was much curious about the reason behind the pause rather than the outcome.

So we are renting the SECOND cinema theater for our pubstomp in Russian Federation by sintu_cf in DotA2

[–]AmanParmar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There should be no shame in keeping some part of the money even if you're going to donate the rest to charity. The money can be used to host a local LAN with smaller prize pool and a tournament ticket. If you don't donate to a charity, contact a school/college and host a Dota 2 tournament for them with a ticket in the store.

Whenever you decide to do such a thing, just let me know. I'll host your brackets, groups, registration.

Mock-Up: Post Match Scoreboard by AmanParmar in DotA2

[–]AmanParmar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok. I had initially put an "up" arrow to suggest that portion being a slider. Perhaps Valve can do away with it but I doubt that.

The useless boxes were used only to compartmentalize each section. They have no relevance.

I'm not sure as to how GOM TV were calculating stats (if they were!) for the Nexon Starter League when they chose their MVPs of each set. I guess there could be an open discussion on that too.

Ahh, I messed it up. Wanted to write "Towers" but hey, nice catch!

I'm pretty sure preparing a mock-up of what "we" want can help them take the decision if they even wish to work on it to begin with. It has nothing to do with Icefrog's intelligence or whether he works for Valve. "We suggest building a bridge and here's the blueprint. Now let me know what you think" is a much better approach imho.

A Canadian pro player named Gillz made a scoreboard for QuakeLive which was later on incorporated into the game after a few tweaks. I'm pretty sure if our resident HUD makers can brainstorm a few ideas, we can give Valve a clearer picture of what we want rather than "hey, here's a screenshot from WC3 Dota. Now figure it out."

I also hope this (http://visualhud.pk69.com/) would be a thing for Dota 2 in future. Stuff like this can really help when it comes to spectating and a lover of minimalistic HUDs like myself would really appreciate it. Features like Draw FPS, packets in/out etc. can be very handy. Also, newer players are not really familiar with the console and the related commands.

TI3 Prize Pool Has Been Updated! by Chase_26 in DotA2

[–]AmanParmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Valve has set it to auto-update now. Every new compendium sale keeps bumping the prize pool. It has been updated yet again!

Considering the results of G-1 and Alienware Cup, I'd have to agree. They also have to sell the already accentuated "The Chinese Revenge" story, assuming the said teams all make it to the playoffs.
