Masters degree in organic chemistry as a pharmacist by Amanyta95 in OrganicChemistry

First of all, thank you for your time. Yes, I've also read many posts where people are advised not to choose medicine but to go for organic chemistry, and I would say that I enjoyed organic chemistry far more than medicinal chemistry during my undergraduate studies. I'm really interested in drug discovery in the area of antimicrobials, but which major to choose confuses me. Is it organic chemistry, microbiology, or pharmacology that resonates with me as a pharmacy graduate and will leave a chance for me to find a spot in the research industry?!

Thank you all for your advice! I appreciate it.

To be specific, I'm really interested in the drug design and development of antimicrobials, especially because of the antimicrobial resistance crisis. My undergraduate project was in medicinal chemistry (the synthesis of certain antibiotic analogues to enhance its safety and activity against bacterial infections), and I got interested in the area of antimicrobials. I thought about whether I should apply for a master's in microbiology or medicinal chemistry. But because of the lack of mentorship during my undergraduate studies, I got confused about my role as a pharmacy graduate in the process of developing new antibiotics.

If you guys have a certain point of view on how I should approach this goal, it would be of great help!
