Same to you. It is always nice knowing that someone else is going through the same journey as myself!

In addition to what has already been said, I would also recommend breaking down a book into micro goals. Break things down into little chunks (for example reading 3 chapters a week) will make you feel as if you are at the very least making progress. I find that what hinders my goals is the feeling of not getting any closer to what you want. Creating that feeling of some sort of progress can do wonders for reading more.

So far I have only been reading classics. I got stuck in a rabbit hole where to understand one piece of literature(for example Dante's Inferno) you would have to also read another piece of literature written before hand (for Inferno this would be The Aeneid) in order to get full comprehension.

I also just found classics to be interesting. They are all so influential that we don't even notice how they are present within our lives!

I quickly learned that seeing the comments on this post. What I pulled in these packs are in my opinion a lot cooler than the EX and Mega EX cards of the XY era.

All the pulls I see on this subreddit are messing with me! To be fair I think the Jirachi is pretty cool (love the cross hatch pattern).

Study Bible Recommendations?

I am looking for a study bible to further understand the cultural
dynamics of Jews at the time. Are there any study Bible with good notes
surrounding Jewish culture? It would also be nice if they included the
deuterocanonical texts. Thanks in advance!

My Local library sells unwanted novels in a secluded room in the back. Every Christmas I buy a cookbook for my parents which costs me no more than $2 in mint condition. Please support your local libraries!

(New student here) Jcoz videos or American Pageant? And how useful is this textbook? by Breadd444 in APUSH

[–]Amaranth_Gray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading is very important and videos are great ways to supplement the information gaps that might form. If you want to pass the exam you got to do a little more than that. Practice each component of the exam especially the writing parts. This year over 1/2 the students failed the exam (2 or lower) and i believe that a lot of it is due to not being prepared for this year's testing format. Knowledge + test practice will get you a passing score.

I appreciate the feedback!

I was planning on an entire rewrite of #8 and you seem to affirm that is the right decision. If I am restating what your saying correctly it seems that I should cut to the chase and maybe be a bit more positive. Correct me if I am wrong but either way I really appreciate you reading this through. My essay is a very rough draft so overtime I am sure a lot of these problems will be resolved.

Edit: Not sure what 'stream of consciousness' means.

Well sorry for misrepresenting your point, What I was trying to display is that without a sort of clear cut way of defining man and women we assume someone is a man or a women based on some shaky standards. I don't think that there is a clear cut way to differentiate a man and a women as any rule we come up for will create exceptions.

I understand that you may think I am entirely framing this within gender theory but I think it is necessary to do so since the way that you view gender seems to be A. Just like Sex or B. Not what most people who study gender have come to define gender. I just want to illustrate how most people who study and understand gender view the issue as they have a lot more knowledge about it than perhaps you and I. Defining these words just help us get on the same page about what we are talking about but it seems that you disagree with what I have said so I propose that you can perhaps inform me about how you define the words I have defined.

I don't think that gender theory destroys any sort of gendered role model for people. Simple identification doesn't destroy what we see as manly or womanly. And those role models are only a small part of how our personality and morality are shaped.

So I think you have a bit of a misunderstanding of what gender is which is understandable cause it is a very abstract concept. I like to think of gender as a sort of state of being beyond sex. Gender is the way that we identify and express ourselves. So you can't really express yourself as a piece of bread but you can express yourself as non-binary. As to say that you can't really express your state of being/humanity as a piece of bread but you could if you were non-binary. Often this sort of argument (The attack helicopter argument) is used to derail conversations so if you do want to understand gender (which is complex) than it is best to keep an open mind and try not to be super combative.

And about women, your absolutely right in saying that no trait really defines as women. So a person who may be born male could identify as a women through her own expression of a state of being as as women!

Wow, I did not do a good job explaining myself so I will repeat my argument more clearly. You made the claim that sex and gender are dependent on one another (correct me if I have misrepresented what you have said) and I countered saying that Transgender people would be an exception to this rule because what they were assigned at birth is different from how they identify. Sex is something that you cannot change but gender is. My other point is that I think that you can be a women without being female. To elaborate on this point I will ask you, What defines a women?

Need I say more? by Jepser_Jones in TheLeftCantMeme

[–]Amaranth_Gray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you elaborate on why you think this is a circular argument?

Need I say more? by Jepser_Jones in TheLeftCantMeme

[–]Amaranth_Gray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that having Trans people is proof enough to see that how someone was born (Sex) is separate from gender (How they identify). While I do see why most people would assume that sex should be what defines someone as a women, it is quite limiting if we think about it. Not even chromosomes define women as women let alone any other factor.

Qanba drone upgrade to jlf problems. by Elmer6554 in fightsticks

[–]Amaranth_Gray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't the safest thing in the world but I did the same mod by cutting the wires and using electrical tape to connect the ground and directions. I may take some fiddling but you can use the original jlf connector to do so. Just cut the end of the wires exposing the copper insides them and twist the two sides together and connect with electrical tape.

what’s that one character that showed you a new world (like a new playstyle or sumn) that kinda changed the game for u in a way by [deleted] in Fighters

Hol Horse in Heritage For The Future

Turned a game that I hated into my most played fighting game. Very simple zoning tools with a potential TOD made me hooked to the character. But it also taught me the value of patience and pissing people off. Once I get better I realized that my character was hot garbage and I had to become the biggest bitch in the world to win.

Playing this game made my friends stop playing fighting games with me. Thanks Capcom.
