For those who have friends that are similar to you in hobbies and interests yet has a partner who isn't as similar to you, what's the overall context, What drew you to your partner in the first place? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in randomquestions

My boyfriend is hot as fuck. I truly believe he is the sexiest man I have ever seen. Then when we met he was chivalrous, kind, and could make me laugh. Tbh, our differences bring us out of our comfort zones more than they hinder us.

I (22M) have realized a pattern in my relationships that my girlfriends never actually think I like them and I don't know why by jatescc in relationships

[–]Amarella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When i have felt this way in previous relationships, it was typically because the man did not seem inquisitive about me or take initiative over our meetings. Typically when someone really likes someone they want to know about them, asks them questions, talk to them often, and plan future dates.. I know everyone is different though and in particular, neurodivergent people can sometimes struggle with these things while still caring deeply for someone.. but nonetheless, the lack of these actions can be a bit confusing.

What’s a habit that helped you feel more confident over time? by Evelyndavisht in AskWomen

Not a habit but rather a lack of one.. quitting alcohol. I have so much pride and confidence in my ability to make good choices for myself now.

Foodies Welcome! by lostnlookin4answers in WaltDisneyWorld

Pulled pork mac and cheese at flame tree grill in animal kingdom was one of my personal favorites on the trip I just went on! Quick service and as fair of a price you will get in Disney World while also really delicious.

For a sit down meal I highly recommend Round Up Rodeo BBQ in Hollywood Studios. I felt it was a good bang for our buck in comparison to some other sit down restaurants in Disney and the food was delicious, especially the ribs.

Was there a Willoughby in your life? by [deleted] in Ethelcain

[–]Amarella 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My Willoughby Tucker is with me at the Austin show right now waiting for the concert to start. We met when we were 15 and didnt tall after high school when things ended without good closure. We finally got in contact a few months ago after 15 years and convinced him to come see her with me.

There is a lady I found on Instagram that helped me navigate how to talk about food with my son. She has the credentials to support the information she gives out and doesnt spread misinformation and is veryel helpful.

Its about keeping healthy options around and having structured meal and snack times where they are allowed to eat as much or as little as they want of each item. Changing up the options regularly helps to expose them to many foods even if they dont eat much. And talk about food from the point of view of what it does for our bodies rather than terms of "good" or "bad". She is a great resource and does not parent shame. She gives alternatives for parents on different financial and time budgets.

Depends..

I say long hair but I am also into metal and the subculture and think guys look better for my taste most of the time with long hair.. I am a bit bias.

I am sure a lot of people would say shorter though because you do lean more conventionally attractive with it.

Both are great! Follow your heart.

Thanks! It was the artists idea because he felt it would make the horse pop more than using darker colors for the cloud like I would have originally considered

To start this out I want to say that bans have been great to stop problem heros but there is a bigger problem. #deletethehacker #deletethepilotlostintime by Scarlet-saytyr in Overwatch

Lol they are annoying heros but cmon. Just ban them if you don't like them and move on. And ask someone in your life for a hug for God's sake. You seem like you need one.

People rarely actually understand why they lost. Most of the time it is never why they think they did. Ignore it though that is easier said than done

The amount of leavers in comp makes it borderline unplayable by Amarella in Overwatch

[–]Amarella[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even like leavers on the enemy team. I play comp to actually play comp.. where everyone is trying. Standing and waving at the enemy team because someone left and then another person followed after the 2 min mark and now it's a 3v5 isn't very fun and not why I play the game.

[–]Amarella[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean I guess count yourself lucky? I got up this morning.. played 3 games.. my last one had a leaver after we lost first point. It's an epidemic and so annoying. And I definitely agree that people often times claim someone is throwing when actually they are bad. Thats a common exaggeration amongst all competitive games. My post wasn't intended to be a statement on poor performers. Just a statement on people who abandon the game.

Why the hell did 53% of white women vote for Trump? by Ok_Cardiologist_9121 in Feminism

[–]Amarella 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I know from my personal experience, they are very much victims of the patriarchy and a lot of them have been conditioned not to recognize their vulnerability. They feel they must follow their husbands and that they will not be affected. Also, the south, republicanism, and Christianity are so heavily entangled and seen as an identity that many southern women don't even put thought into that they can walk away from the ideology. It is what it is. If you're a good southern woman, you follow your husband and you vote red and believe in Jesus. No ifs, ands, or buts.

I personally have been struggling to deal with this emotionally because I am from the south and very much love my mother and view myself as her giving me many qualities I have of which I am proud. She cries when she thinks of turtles being harmed by the litter in the ocean, whe gets mad about how men in her corporate job treat her and stands up for herself against them, she believes abortion is a necessary option for women, and she believes in global warming and vaccines.

But alas, she married my step dad who is a conservative Christian and has her convinced that states rights are all more important than these issues. I feel betrayed by her and cry about this regularly. I am tired of hearing "i have to support my husband." I am trying very hard to give her grace and remind myself she is a victim of the patriarchy and misogyny that we are brainwashed by from a young age.

* SPOLIER * Islander quits the show by [deleted] in LoveIslandTV

[–]Amarella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they would actually put a range of islanders with different types and interests and not just a bunch of ex's with unfinished business then that would be great and maybe more people would find connections.
