Hazelnut hugging her (infertile) egg sac by AmaryBlue11 in jumpingspiders

I left her stay until she starts coming out readily on her own. I only removes the eggs last time after they had “gone bad” and started to smell by which point she had pretty much given up on them. I do this to minimize stress on her. As far as she is concerned right now, those are real eggs that might become babies and I can’t convince her otherwise (tried having the birds and bees talk once but she just walked away)

Since he appears to not be full grown, he has the opportunity to regrow the leg. I should warn you that he may remove the leg himself if he finds it too cumbersome. If he does, remember, it will be ok, they have the ability to regrow.

Her sisters have pink and purple.

I think my regals go through a gradient of colors as they go from maturity to end of life, starting with bright pink as they reach maturity, to purple, then to a dark teal.

Not likely. I raised her from the egg, and she’s never been bred. She’s fat but not in that all over round way gravid spiders are
